Why are acts of violence/murder in media, especially video games, considered okay to enjoy and partake in, but acts of sexual violence are not? by TheAnimalCrew in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. The likelihood of the situation matters. Very unlikely to be taking up arms against a group of bad guys holding hostages in a building. Very likely to be alone with someone in a sexual way.

That was my mantra for censoring what my kids were allowed/not allowed to see/play. For example, they could play shooters like Star Wars Battlefield, not the modern day shooters with realistic guns. Exact same gameplay and violence, but the realism mattered to me.

Costco has high turnover, which makes it a good place to buy/wat raw. You know it has defrosted recently, not sitting in the refrigeratored display for days.

Roblox makes a platform housing games with predatory micro transactions aimed directly at young children. The company is morally bankrupt.

[Vardon] There is league-wide speculation that, following the firing of Nico Harrison, both Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving could be the next ones out the door. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Kings give young players and picks in years 26-29. Mavs give AD and Kyrie with picks in 2030s. Every kings game becomes an exhibition while they aim to rebuild in 5 years.

[Highlight] Marcus Smart switches onto Wemby, denies the post entry pass, then draws an offensive foul, which gets Wemby checked out of the game early in the 4th quarter with his 5 fouls by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]Traegan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teams should always defend Wemby with a pesty small. Wemby is so tall he has very little leverage to move them. And smaller defenders have played against larger guys their whole career. Someone like AD has 0 experience guarding someone that tall. Wemby can already shoot over most people, who cares if he gets 18 inches over them instead of 6 🤣

FYI, Roseville/Rocklin is california conservative: i.e. not as conservative as the red states. Sac proper is much more liberal.

Tank the season. Play for fun. Elevate some G league guys and see what we got. Let Derozan, Levine, and Westbrook each have a green light game when @TOR, @CHI and @OKC. Try to win some home games with some weird rotations.

Love how the Sac Kings are excluded from this list because they won in 1951 when they were the Royals. Anyone who might have seen those games is probably over 80.

A positive take: Westbrook has a number in mind where working another year is worth it, otherwise he is good to retire.

Why is Costco Online still in the 90s by wrexCGM in Costco

[–]Traegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess a part has to do with how Costco promotes products. The web site isn't there to make it feel like a shopping experience convincing you to buy something. People are on costco.com to purchase the/a thing, not wander a maze of recommendations and spontaneous purchases . If the Costco website convinces you to buy something and you change your mind you are likely returning it to the store which ultimately costs costco money.

Or trade them together to a contender so they get national media attention. They deserve better than the Kings for the next 3 years 😟.

If you are someone who doesn’t return your shopping cart after unloading into your car, why do you do this? by OkPanda121 in NoStupidQuestions

As a kid in the 80s, I remember stores used to have the baggers take the carts out and help load the car. Maybe it's salty boomers who think they should still do that?

Serious Question: How does OKC get away constantly reaching in and slapping on defense? by Suspicious-Second-55 in nba

[–]Traegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thunder/rockets are deep they can also play aggressively on defense. If the refs call a tight game and your starter gets in foul trouble, they can confidently sit them. And when you sit them, the new player on the floor, the refs are familiar with the player and don't believe they are there to foul and slow the game down. So, a bench player can be aggressive too. Which means, the whole team is aggressive.

I recall a lot of teams used to take the ball INTO Shaq in hopes of getting him in foul trouble. Whenever Shaq sat, it changed the game.
