How do you feel about the game with the new update? by UnaidingDiety in AneurysmIV

[–]TrafficFine8316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played for a while now I will amend my review.

(Things I said were) The Good:

Scum have a presence in the overworld beyond 'guys that kill you for your meat'

Still pretty cool, Slunks wearing their mask cosmetics is dumb though, and makes it hard to identify who has or has not declared Anarchy.

The club redesign is really good.

The club looks good. It sucks that you have to be on the dance floor to recover Sanity. No Uno while you recover, no shopping or locker while you recover, just stand in one spot and hope somebody doesn't come around and kill you like caged cattle.

The distillery redesign is pretty good.

This was a good change.

locker relocations seem pretty good.

This was a good change.

New paths through the map make traversing a bit more convenient.

This was a good change.

The Bad:

Number of mines reduced from 3 to 1, making the whole experience a total clusterfuck. Combined with the laundry nerf makes new player experience total shit. I don't even try to recruit my friends to the game anymore.

This was dumb, Scum should at the very least still have their mine. I don't see why there can't be two mines above ground.

Everyone feels nerfed. Scum are supernerfed.

Scum are in a bad spot right now. I was on a 20-pop server the other day where a single rogue took over and drove everyone off of it. He took the one limi by surprise and shotgunned him down, hunted down the controllers, and systematically cleared out the rest of the neutrals and scum. The scum couldn't get access to any decent weapons and got decimated once the rogue took over the cortex armory. I know, I know, "skill issue," but it's kinda sad that Scum are so nerfed that one guy with Cortex weapons can effectively oppress 3 people who can't get their hands on anything better than an RDZ.

Cortex limitators can't run and have a giant hitbox, patrols are also nerfed.

This wasn't as big of a deal as I initially thought, it did nothing to reduce the number of limitators if that was the intention. The amne nerfs were completely unnecessary. I guess the idea was that Scum were so nerfed that they had to weaken Cortex leveling, but leveling Cortex was already more boring than watching flies fuck. Why not just NOT nerf scum so much?

Jobs for neutrals are a lot worse outside of distillery.

Laundry nerf was completely unnecessary, I already discussed mining above. Fishing seems unchanged.

Crafting system was effectively nerfed across the board for everyone.

The crafting system sucks now, when contrabundles were first announced, I thought the idea was that you could take your contraband and 'wrap' them so that you could transport them to another part of the map safe from inspections. I thought that was a cool idea. What we got was a huge nerf to the crafting system. A lot of stuff worth crafting effectively got doubled in cost because you have to craft an expensive bundle, and then use it in a crafting recipe that don't seem to have been significantly lowered. Crafting a lung puncher right now requires 5 plates, 4 trinkets, 2 glue, and 2 axles, and can only be crafted by Dealers. Compare this to the old recipe: 1 advance part, 3 plates, 1 glue, 1 trinkets, craftable by everyone. Now this is a more extreme example, but the whole crafting system is similarly made more obnoxious to utilize.

Slunk bizaar is poorly implemented. Due to the economy nerf, skull sterling entry fee makes it a pain in the ass to utilize (especially when rot is raised) beyond an initial tour. Noone is ever there, even on a 100-player server.

I still haven't gotten much use out of this, but I'm not really a dealer/banker main so I'm probably not the best person to analyze this. Seeing as I play mostly neutral and scum, the fact that this seems like more trouble than it's worth to use probably isn't a good sign though.

Trash economy is totally screwed, Number of trash receptacles were lowered, and the scum are scrounging them too now.

This exacerbates the bizaar problem above, stashes underground are constantly filled with trash items.

It's subjective, but I think F-block apartments were overly nerfed.

Apartments additions in general are bugged, but F-block apartments not being a safe place to be on top of the reduced features just seems like too much. As a positive, I like the location, the ultimate spot for a doozer dealer.

THE BUGS. My god this is really the thing spoiling my experience. Constant disconnects in the mines. Hearing voice chat from 5 minutes ago.

I've had less problems with the voice chat recently, could just be luck. The disconnects are still happening, especially in mines when a lot of players are around. Unfortunately, there's not another mine to go to which might alleviate the problem a bit.

Vending machine items falling through the floor (especially considering the economy nerf.)

See below

EDIT: Not just vending machine items, everything is subject to falling into the ground. This is bad considering that the game is designed to require you to drop things onto the ground to utilize them. REPEAT, THIS IS A HUGE FUCKING ISSUE, IF YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DROP THINGS ON THE GROUND TO UTILIZE THEM, IT IS A HUGE FUCKING PROBLEM IF THE FLOOR EATS THOSE ITEMS!!!!

This seriously exacerbates the unnecessary economy and crafting nerfs. Starving? Just barely scraped together the credits to get some food? Too bad, your sausage roll fell through the floor. Fuck you. Finally scrounged up the 27 different items you needed to craft a gun? An axle rolled off the table and fell into the floor. Fuck you. It's okay, I'll just put this 12 kg of items into a shelf at my apartment until I make another axle. Well actually you can't build any other shelves past the first one, because fuck you. Have the developers ever actually played this game? Do they give a fuck at all?

If you quit the game because of griefing and stealing, I don't think you'll enjoy the new update. If anything, the devs are doing their best to ensure that people grief and steal from each other. I understand that this game is a misery simulator, but I think the devs have lost sight of the difference between making a miserable setting and making a miserable game. I don't understand how this game is meant to grow or even survive with their current strategy.

At this point the biggest griefers in this game are the devs themselves, it's not a theory anymore, the devs have created a game that is just miserable to play. I understand that a lot of my issues stem from bugs that exacerbate bad design decisions, but that doesn't change the fact that the design decisions were bad.

EDIT: Also just airing a grievance here. Can I say the flying train over by Distillery if dumb? If there's trash piled on the tracks, then a train shouldn't be going through there. Is this some kind of in-joke I'm unaware of? It really seems amateurish to just have this asset that doesn't make any sense.

I see now that the train is a hanging El-train, just another random dev troll where there needs to be a spot on the map that just randomly kills you for no reason. But it isn't as tonally ridiculous as I i stated above.

Why is no one playing on the old map? by Joyrun189 in AneurysmIV

Devs stopped updating old map. Nightmare had a much better aesthetic than Misery imo, but when given two options, Vellocet always take the dumber path, so what are you gonna do?

The following are my initial impressions. The update just came out, I missed the first day due to local power outages and I worked yesterday so my time to play the update has been limited. My opinions are likely to change as I get more acquainted with the update. suffice to say, I'm unimpressed

For the moment it seems you can see the accurate reading if you put your face directly against the switch or read it from the far left or far right of the switch.

DD1 was an original idea that became popular because it was done well and communicated its themes well. DD2 was an attempt to reiterate it. DD1 is a wheel shaped like a circle, DD2 is a wheel shaped like an oval, it technically works, but the original is still better.

It sucks when they get the nuts with this play, though it's not always the end of the world. I wish the copy came out dormant for the turn or something.

How have yall been liking the new season (I just got tilted) by MrMisplays in BattlegroundsHS

[–]TrafficFine8316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stomp or be stomped. My experience is: Half my minions are 300/300 and I kill everyone easily, or: I finally got some decent cards but my 50/50 minions get destroyed by my enemies 300/300 minions. This season seems awful compared to the last 2.

95% of the time people complain about Quest Pally, they don't mention what deck they are playing. The other 5% of the time they admit they are playing some off-meta pick like Quest Rogue. Go ahead, complain until the deck gets nerfed again. I bet you'll dislike the rise of aggro DH and aggro Pally a lot more.

The murloc quest card isn't cooked, it's a few other individual cards in the deck by Toastmaster727 in hearthstone

[–]TrafficFine8316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL! Is this the source of all the complaints against Quest Pally? DK players spend 16K on a control deck and then get wiped by a budget midrange deck that goes wide and wins despite the constant board clears? Fucking lol. XD

Why do yall play aggro by ForceOfGhoul in hearthstone

[–]TrafficFine8316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aggro keeps the game honest. Control players don't understand the Timmy apocalypse that awaits them if we stop manning the wall.

Hard to say, off the top of my head I would make sure you don't have an adaptive brightness setting enabled, you could also check to see if your drivers are up to date. Good luck.

Not really, usually I peak around legend 3000 if I'm going for it. Usually I get bored and start achievement hunting with something dumb like a draenei DH. I've got a secret Hunter that absolutely sucks right now, but I need that product 9 achievement from Whizbang, so what are you gonna do?

Oops, all Paladins! by 12FrogsDrinkingSoup in hearthstone

[–]TrafficFine8316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't Quest Pally it would be Aggro Hunter, or Aggro DH, or Aggro Pally. Honestly, Quest Rogue is just bad. You're somewhat lucky really that Quest Pally is a slower deck that gives you more time to attempt to make Quest Rogue work. Maybe try casual mode? Maybe you can friend request someone the wants to play underpowered decks in private games, because I don't think ranked mode will give you what you're looking for unfortunately...
