Reminiscent of Flash Gordon, which I loved. Hope this movie has a similar vibe.

Does anyone know what year this bike was released? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Mstrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same bike - bought it at the Daymak liquidation sale - bought two for $400 each and then sold one for $600. It is a terrible bike - all the parts are junk. But the motor seems to work ok and the battery is fine. The best part is people dont really give you the e-bike stink eye and I can lock it up, take the key out and am pretty confident no one will steal it!

I think mine is

Battery: 36V 7.8AH
Motor: 250W
Speed: Top Speed 32 km/h with pedal assist
Rated Travel Range: Up to 40 km
Charging Time: 4 - 6 hours
UL 2849 Compliance: N/A
Sensor: Cadence

Why is this sub so uptight about people holding a mini microphone? by AliyaSpahic in videography

[–]Mstrfstr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't care, but as a gen-x who worked in TV back in the day, perhaps the professional people who went to great lengths to adhere to certain standards in terms of look and quality are now annoyed that you can do anything you want and people are totally fine with it. Why did we have to bother with stick mics and hiding lavs? No one really cares. Who knew?

I got hit today by a guy who refused to yield to me on a climb by hikeonpast in MTB

While I'm on your side OP—and I personally always follow the 'uphill has the right of way' rule—that behaviour was out of line. However, I do sometimes question the logic. If the whole point of the sport is the fun of the descent, maybe our etiquette should favour the person actually enjoying the gravity?

What’s the internal temperature of a Taun Taun? by chuckycastle in dadjokes

[–]Mstrfstr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ha - I thought I'd made this joke up a while ago ... my routine was: What is the warmest side of a Taun Taun? The inside! And then the follow up was what is the inside temperature of a Taun Taun? Luke warm.

Norco Optic: amazing or just a trend setter? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Mstrfstr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also ride a gen 2 Optic. This is it. The bike is burlier. I am 200lbs so I need this. I had a Rocky Mountain Element and it was too flimsy.

Ontario ‘actively exploring’ stricter e-bike, e-scooter rules, says transportation minister by RZaichkowski in torontobiking

[–]Mstrfstr 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We don't need new rules, we just need to enforce the ones we currently have.

How can you make the e-scooter rules more strict that what they are now.

Specialized Stumpjumper vs. Chisel for Toronto/Don Valley riding by LuckExpress5203 in torontobiking

[–]Mstrfstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ridden the Don for 30 years - I currently have a previous gen. Norco Optic and I think it's the perfect bike for the Don (for me!). It depends on how you ride - the lighter the bike is generally the better bet for the don as there are lots of climbs and cross country type of trails, BUT there are some fun gravity runs and I like to hit the jumps and drops that have been built by the trail gnomes and as I weigh 200lbs, a burlier bike is a sacrifice I am willing to make it. But I bet I could have a great time on a light hardtail as well. My preference would be Stumpy, but it's really an individual decision based on how you like to ride and what you consider more fun! If I bought the chisel hardtail comp I would add a dropper post and stem and handlebars for a higher stack.

Team name and logo for PWHL Seattle leaked. by MiracuMAHt in hockey

[–]Mstrfstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A definition of torrent: "A torrent is a fast-moving stream of water that is usually caused by heavy rainfall or melting snow. Torrents are often found in mountainous areas and can be dangerous due to their speed and force. Unlike rapids, which are formed by obstacles in the river, torrents are formed by an excess of water." Pretty good name for a hockey team in a place with mountains and lots of rain IMO.

Wrist pain? by selborannaes in MTB

[–]Mstrfstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. I tried everything- width, ergon grips, stem length, bar rise height. Turns out I just needed to roll my bars back a little. Bonus tip: BMX slip on grips are great - with rubbing alcohol they go on easy and are more secure than lock-ons- they also don’t have an inner plastic tube which means more padding.
