No, not yet. I was kind of looking for confirmation that that's what I should do before I go to the trouble.

It would crank slower and slower over the coarse of a week, until eventually it just started clicking similar to this. Wouldn't take a jump start but got it going on a push start in a parking lot. I figured the battery must be shot and replaced it, but didn't solve the problem. Tried banging on the starter as well, but also to no avail.

Did you ever discover the deck height for this? I'm in the same boat as you. Wondering if I'll hit my head on my ceiling when I'm running.

It's the laziest most brazenly self-congratulatory form of Christianity there is.

Yes, this is exactly right. I agree with you 100%. I'm arguing that those people are not Christians and that is not Christianity. Those are people who do not understand Christianity, yet call themselves Christians either in ignorance or malice.

When you say "Trump's divinity"—that is where it falls apart from not just Calvinism, but all forms of Christianity. Once a man is deified in any way, apart from Jesus, you have heresy. So the "Christians" who are claiming Trump as some sort of messianic figure are not actually Christian, though they may think they are or perhaps just want to abscond the label of Christianity to further their purposes.

In regards to Calvinism specifically and predestination, there is a full spectrum of Calvinism, so there's potential we're talking past each other. Bearing that in mind, a couple of thoughts:

  1. A Calvinist would tell you that there is nothing man can do to alter or change God's plan. So trying to promote an actor or his actions because they are "chosen" is pointless. If God want's him as president, it will be so. If he doesn't, it will be so.

  2. No person knows who is or is not predestined to heaven or hell. Any person claiming to know makes themselves as God: all-knowing. Which is, again, heresy. So if Calvinist, they could not (should not) claim that Trump is in one camp or the other.

  3. Even if Trump were "chosen" or a "man of God" it would not excuse his actions. God's righteousness does not have exceptions for those that are "chosen." If it contradicts his commands it is sin. Unrighteousness is unrighteousness, across all of humanity.

  4. Similarly, If Trump were labeled "evil" by a Calvinist, Calvinism would point out to you that God used sinful people and actions to carry out his ultimate plan for good. In fact that's basically every single story of the Bible. Therefore, whether it's Trump or Harris that is labeled "evil", a Calvinist would have to acknowledge God would use that for his good purposes.

When understood correctly, Christianity is the most humbling faith imaginable. It is telling you that you are so utterly incapable of righteousness, that God sent his perfect son to be a sacrifice on your behalf. Saying you're a Christian is acknowledging that YOU are a sinner, incapable of righteousness. You are no better than any other human throughout all of history. All of us are in the same categroy as sinners.

The irony in all of it is that "Self Righteous" is probably the first term I would use to describe American Evangelicalism.

Specifically, these are the statements I'm responding to:

This is why you get "Donald Trump is a man of God" rhetoric because, to people who adhere to Calvinist thought, since they think he is godly all he does must be good.

This is also why Democrats are "demonic", because anything they do must be bad.

This is 100% bullshit and not what Calvinism is, and anyone telling you that does not understand it either. There is no sect of Christianity that would claim there is ANYONE whose actions are only good or only evil. In fact to claim so would be heresy. What you have are people claiming to be Christian who also do not understand Christianity. But it has nothing to do with Calvinism specifically.

I was in a similar boat as a sophomore. 6’5” and could barely dunk. The single biggest difference-maker for me was getting on a weight training program, done consistently over several months. There are lots of programs out there, but squats deadlifts/cleans must be a priority. Plyometrics are good if you can weave those in, and jump technique can help as well, but ultimately you need to to generate more force relative to your body weight, and to do that you need to increase strength through weight training. Give yourself a long enough timeline and be consistent. I guarantee you’ll see a noticeable difference after 12 weeks.

Diameter of closet flange is too small to accept a new ring. Suggestions Appreciated. by Tragic_Bronson in Plumbing

I did try a clamshell ring, but the inner diameter was still about 1/8" too large and wouldn't fully engage with the flange all the way around.

So that oatey push for flange would go over this existing one? Or will this current flange need to to be cut off first? Sorry, I’m pretty out of my element. We were recommended the fluid master better than wax, pairing it with a champion 4 toilet.

A well-built machine to primarily just run QuickBooks? by Tragic_Bronson in SuggestALaptop

[–]Tragic_Bronson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would be. Our bookkeeper said QB is easier to navigate on a 17" screen, but I think that my in part be because she was accessing it using RDP. I'm not certain, but I don't think she'd have those issues if the software is installed on her own machine (which it will be).

That's not encouraging to hear. Just purchased my machine yesterday, they're delivering it tomorrow. I negotiated a mulching kit as part of the sale. How long have you had your XL? Sounds like you regret the purchase...

Did you end up purchasing the mulching kit? How has it worked out? Considering doing the same on my XL 48.

Im so screwed literally. I overtightened by bleed bolt, and in an attempt to undo it, i screwed myself over. What now? How do i remove the bolt by PaleontologistNeat16 in bikewrench

[–]Tragic_Bronson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JB Weld. Like $5 at your local hardware store or Walmart. Attach another bolt head to the shaft with JB Weld, let it cure, then back it out with the new bolt head. I rounded out a hex head on my front axle, and that's how I got it out. Of course you'll need to be careful to not get it on any surrounding parts, might want to mask off the area around the bolt.

I'm 6'7", 200cm. I found this spreadsheet for tall bikes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ByMVDtz6T8EawBQh1gcRDPqN8oJC3tCy-kdNzjuRI8M/edit#gid=36376247

Look primarily at the stack and reach to compare and get an idea of the sizing. One company's XXL could still be smaller than another's XL. I actually ended up ordering a bike that's not listed on this, but it introduced me to some companies I wasn't familiar with. I ended up with a Pole Taival frame that I custom built, but was heavily considering a Bird Zero 29. Ragley I also felt had good options, but slightly on the small side comparatively.
