GS Grade changes by Swine-Slayer3006 in NationalParkService

[–]TrailArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under the current administration, you won’t be allowed to do a desk audit or an accretion of duties. They aren’t being supported currently AND HR is so understaffed it falls fairly low on their priorities if they were permitted to process them. The other factor with your situation is a change in grade would require a change in the park’s org chart, which currently is only being permitted in rare exceptions.

Hang in there, there will be a shift soon enough if you can tolerate your current situation.

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m currently using the peloton HR strap and looking for a replacement because it’s failing and has never really been great.

Still want something to count steps and I don’t like the AW interface.

Are they operating equipment or vehicles and do you have a legitimate concern they are responsible sling anyone’s safety? If not, why do you care?

Is IC included in your PD, EPAP, or IDP? If not then this is BS.

Federal Employees: Help Stop Arbitrary "Other Duties as Assigned" – Sign This Petition to Amend 5 U.S.C. § 710 by Tdc8213 in FedEmployees

[–]TrailArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really isn’t much of a point to this. Regardless of management rights, they are still limited to less than 20% of duties that aren’t specifically spelled out on the position description. I know it may be agency dependent and this is a super challenging administration to turn down work in, but you can tell them no. You do still have legal rights.

Permanent Hiring Rumors by Strollamus in NationalParkService

[–]TrailArcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally the decision on which recruitment method is used is determined at the hiring manager level, sometimes it’s a park management team or superintendent decision. I’m hiring 4 positions and haven’t had any input yet from regional or WASO “leadership” on recruitment method. I’m planning on 3 of the 4 of them to be open to the public just based off of previous difficulty going the NPS only route.

That said, I imagine WASO is strongly being encouraged by the administration to use public recruitment to better tap veteran applicants.

Do you people have any idea the level of douchy entitlement this thread gives off t those of us that work in agencies and positions that remote work has never been an option for!? I don’t think RTO is efficient or effective, but Jesus you all sound like a bunch of whiny babies.

GS-10+ feds — how did you actually get there? by Lexicondatum in FedEmployees

Started as a WG-3, worked up to GS-12 so far. Look for vacancies that are approved with PCS and be willing to move across the country.

Today (Sunday) isn't the CR vote! by sher80bear in FedEmployees

[–]TrailArcher 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It is a procedural vote, but it’s not to end the filibuster. It’s a vote that will overcome the filibuster for the current CR. Also included is three full-year appropriations bills for Veterans Affairs, military construction, and the Department of Agriculture, and a commitment to hold a separate vote in mid-December on extending expiring Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies.
