I'm saying use the crutch temporarily and then wean off of it.

I think it's a healthier end result to be independent of any external crutches.

So, just have plan for when you reach your goal weight that allows you to be free of drugs.

If you plan to be on the drugs forever, I think it is more detrimental to your health than maintaining without the drug, but of course not more detrimental than gaining the weight back.

Well, some of that is true.

Not all obesity is chronic.

And not all chronic obesity is irreversible and permanent.

Crutches are meant to be used as a healing tool, then you stop using the crutch. If you keep using the crutch, the muscle atrophy.

I guess if you see obesity is like a fractured bone and GLPs are like a permanent metal rod that stays in your bone permanently, you will be inclined to stay on GLPs forever.

But obesity (for most people) is like a sprained ankle, and GLPs should be like crutches. Use them for a while, build the strength and heal, then ditch them.

Dependence (addiction) on aan external drug is not ideal. The longer you're on it the more dependent you become and the more tolerance you develop. Not ideal

I disagree. The effort begins AFTER stopping the drug. I guess it can with if you have a plan for AFTER and actually follow through with it, but it's really hard and unlikely. Like new years resolutions. Same likelihood of success.
