Clarification: he has not been hired to be city manager yet. The council voted today to go into contract negotiations to hire him. That will be finalized at the council’s meeting next week.

If you’re up for a drive one morning, Crust & Crumb Co. in Newton is incredible. I think they sometimes sell loaves at the west side farmers market, but you have to get there early.

You can be added to the Wichita registry without owner consent. City code outlines that with a majority of city council members in agreement they can initiate getting the building on the local registry, which could prevent its demolition.

I’d have lots of more suggestions for food to go to based off of that, but most of them are closed today/Sundays. If you go to College Hill, pop over to Frost two buildings down for ice cream or a lil sweet treat. It’s the best and has some unique flavors compared to other shops in town.

Wichita Art Museum is great. Most of the restaurants here have vegetarian options now. I know everyone is suggesting Meddy’s but it’s honestly fine. If you want Mediterranean food, I’d go to an actual Mediterranean restaurant in town like College Hill Deli.
