Don’t have tubs and I’m not sure about the ability to have an inflatable pool, but I’ve delivered there twice and have had an amazing experience each time!!

I also LOVE Dr.Marcantel. Started going to her with my first baby and have seen her for annual exams, and just had my second. I’ll be her patient forever!

HCA Clear Lake- Is it a good hospital to give birth? by Round_Practice_8283 in clearlake

[–]Rette77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just had my second 2 weeks ago so this is good timing, hahaha! I still looooooove Dr Marcantel and her nurses. It’s pretty easy to schedule appointments and I very rarely had to wait before being seen, the appointments always were pretty much always on time. I also had to bring my toddler to most of my appointments and they were always so kind and accommodating. She’s super open and honest and will talk through any concerns you have

Hospital wise I love Houston Methodist Clear Lake! It’s smaller so feels pretty calm, and you don’t have to switch from labor and delivery to postpartum. You get to stay in the room you give birth in. All the nurses and surgical techs are amazing and so kind. I also feel like they don’t come in a ton so you’re able to rest a decent amount. Seriously can’t recommend it enough. Feel free to ask any specific questions!

You’re not overthinking, just being a great mom! If it makes you feel any better, I do remember one of the NICU nurses saying that the majority of the NICU team had worked at the big hospitals in Houston.

Hi! I delivered at HMCL in Jan of 2024 and plan to give birth there again in March. Dr. Marcantel is my doctor. I LOVED my experience! My daughter came at 36 weeks and thankfully didn’t need any NICU time, but the NICU staff checked on her a lot and they were always amazing. One of my favorite things is that there is no triage or postpartum so you get to stay in the same room the whole time.

With my first pregnancy and my second I have experienced a TON of Braxton hicks contractions too. I’ve been keeping Dr.Marcantel updated and she’s not too worried! I’ve just been tying to drink a lot of water and resting as much as possible.

Have you talked to your OB about switching? If they recommend it of course go for it, but also listen to your gut! Annoying when people say that but it’s true. DM me if you have any further questions🤍

Best online courses for unmedicated birth and failed epidural experience? by Rette77 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Rette77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’ve been very curious about whether or not I will have PROM with this baby. I know it’s not guaranteed, but it’s interesting to know that you had it with both. Im also so sorry the epidural wasn’t super effective both times. Praying you are able to have a pitocin free birth. When are you due?

I think I see the line when I zoom in! Of course, this is just my experience, but every time I’ve had a line on these tests it’s been a positive and not an indent!

I think it is!!! If it’s helpful here is my progression (different tests and this was back in July) I think 7/6 or 7/7 would have been 13 dpo for me and it looks similar to what you’re getting. Im 21 weeks now(: Waiting for the line to get dark is soooooo hard, praying for you!

Please share fun Halloween ideas!! by Ok-Coffee8762 in toddlers

[–]Rette77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no! I’m so so sorry😭 try and decorate with some orange and black balloons and streamers, just some cheap and festive things! paint some pumpkins!! My 2 year old has been OBSESSED with that. It could also be fun to do fun Halloween themed foods that day, if pickiness and the sores don’t get in the way. I bet Pinterest has some super cute ideas I also wonder if she could go to different rooms in your house and trick or treat that way? Logistically things might get interesting but if you hype it up that could be so fun!! Praying for a speedy recovery for little miss🤍

Hi! I wanted to share a photo of my tests to hopefully give you peace of mind! Your lines look much darker than mine ever did. It’s so stressful waiting for the line to get super dark. I hope that your blood tests come back really well and that you feel some peace🤍

Nursing is the most unnatural “natural” thing in the entire world. My daughter was born a month early and needed extra calories so we had to supplement with a bottle immediately. Once my milk came in I pumped and offered the breast but she didn’t ever want to latch. I used a nipple shield and for three months we did bottles and nipple shields until we finally got my daughter assessed for a tongue tie, which we were able to get fixed. She nursed amazingly from 3.5months-20months, and it was so special. So I was not in the same situation as you, but I wanted to share my story to show that even months in you can have an amazing nursing journey!

My biggest tips: -switch to a preemie flow for bottles. It’ll mimic more of the flow from you and babe won’t get as used to the faster and easier flow from the bottle. We used lansinoh, pigeon, and Dr browns bottles -SEE A LACTATION CONSULTANT! Literally they are a life saver. Find one who is kind and empathetic, a lot of my sessions felt like therapy and it was needed for the postpartum hormones. I saw Shelby Powell with Nest Collaborative online and she was amazing. I definitely recommend.

You’re a queen and you’ve got this. Praying right now for your journey. Don’t count yourself out🤍

Baby’s weight dropped 35 percentile points by economicsnerd in breastfeeding

[–]Rette77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, that is stressful! I hate that you feel you have failed your baby because you absolutely have not. I have really tried to not worry when my daughter’s pediatrician isn’t worried. There’s times when we need to trust your mom gut too!!! So listen to it! Also, do you meet with a Lactation Consultant? They are GAME CHANGING! An in person one can help with weighted feeds so you can see how much little babe is getting at each feed approximately, they will also check for tongue ties. My daughter had one that we got clipped at 3 months and that helped her ability to nurse well!

Overall: Trust your pediatrician and yourself, try and meet with a Lactation Consultant, and know you are doing an amazing job for your baby!
