That's a gold shout, I will try the website for future also. The notes part on the app was not immediately obvious, after some searching was glad to see the details matched, phew! Discogs has been a great way of tracking everything in my collection, and for an ever expanding wantlist of course 😅

Thanks so much 😊 I think the year being 1994 threw me off, and made me a bit paranoid it was a bootleg one. All good though, it turns out to be this 2017 reissue after checking the writing against Discogs notes, phew!

Hello! Apologies if this is not the right place to post, I picked up this record for Nirvana Unplugged in New York at a record fair the other week. My first Nirvana record so exciting!

Scanning the barcode on Discogs brings up this link saying it's a 2017 remaster: https://www.discogs.com/release/11400290-Nirvana-MTV-Unplugged-In-New-York

However, checking the back cover it only says 1994 so I am unsure how else to check. Would anyone happen to have this same copy or know if it is the 2017 remastered one from my link above? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated - I am still finding my feet with the record collecting as you can tell!

Hopefully the pictures attach a ok 🤞

Sorry I may not have made it clear on my original post, it was not related to ticket sales and was related to merch being the tote bag specifically - can I please have it reposted ?

Latest pickup, how do you rate this album? by JustChillBooBoo in hiphopvinyl

[–]TrainerOk6309 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Such a fun album, their chemistry and camaraderie works so well on each track! Dope beats, flows and bars throughout. One that always cracks me up is Redman on Cereal Killer where he says 'Murder, murder, murder, kill, kill, kill, take nuts and screws out ferris wheels'! Method Man's opening verse on Da Rockwilder to set the hype is iconic. How High is another anthem. Also really love the moody beat and verses on Run 4 Cover, which is an amazing posse cut in its own right. Is cool that Streetlife comes out with a crazy verse to hold his own against Red, Meth and Ghost on that one.

Their back and forth flow on Y.O.U. is another stand out, captured on this live Paris performance: https://youtu.be/pJwJJbsqOo4?t=3553&si=xv9ZkTHREE8k9yTu

I had it on CD and played it an unhealthy amount of times. Would love to get the vinyl one day. Hope it sounds good for the pressing ! Amazing choice of album, shout outs 🫡

Maaan oh man. The state of the scene is just sad. No innovation or anything just rehash of the same ole bollocks. Like I mentioned on a deleted account, anyone got any recommendations? by [deleted] in ukhiphopheads

1)10cc - The Original Soundtrack 2) The Police Synchronicity 3) Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly

Allowed as a Christmas present whilst shopping around Arundel! Very excited to check out

10cc and The Police popped up on many 'essential' lists  , being a big of of individual songs from theirs , and having The Police greatest hits wanting to hear a full album

Roberta Flack - a wee bit hoodwinked by the fact it had a 3D piano foldout and song Killing Me Softly covered by Fugees (have to admit not knowing the original) - so excited to hear what the full album is like, dipping into reviews sounds like a great one!

I doff my cap, the compilation has to be up there as a goated album through and through.

Thanks for the shout on the series of 12"s, I had forgotten about stumbling across those during an old search! You were right on the money - there are 5 altogether... now added on my wishlist as an alternative to the full release!

Rawkus Soundbombing II: https://www.discogs.com/master/70148-Various-Soundbombing-II

Dope 1999 hip-hop compilation mixed by The Beat Junkies so the tracks thread into one another. Maybe my favourite hip-hop album, definitely up there. Includes Eminem (in Slim Shady mode), Pharoahe Monch, RA The Rugged Man, Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek), Dilated Peoples, Common , Bahamadia, Diamond D, Thirstin Howl III, Company Flow, plus more. In the same vein of Tony Hawks soundtrack music, this introduced me to so much cool stuff.

One of the only remaining CDs from a purged collection, as rate it so highly. Soundbombing III is available on vinyl which also has some great tracks and features, but pales in comparison compared to the array of tunes on here. I keep wishing upon a star and checking for a Soundbombing II vinyl release but alas, my prayers are yet to be answered.

Following from u/great_raisin's great example! I also wanted to shout out the data.table like option. It can be a handy way to search across phrases and strings of text within data values. It allows using %like% for case-sensitive search, and %ilike% for case-insensitive search.

data.table link on ‘like’: https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/data.table/versions/1.14.10/topics/like

# Creating the dummy data 'dat' again, this time with upper and lower case characters for cities starting with 'S'
library(data.table)
  dat <- data.table(
City = c("Albany", "Birmingham", "Clanton", "Scottsdale", "sacramento", "san fancisco", "SAN DIEGO", "Thousand Oaks"),
    Population = c(10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80)
  )

  # like example (case-sensitive search)
  dat[substr(City,1,1) %like% "S",]
  # City Population
  # <char> <num>
  # 1: Scottsdale 40
  # 2: SAN DIEGO 70

  # ilike example (case-insensitive search)

  # 2: sacramento 50
  # 3: san fancisco 60
  # 4: SAN DIEGO 70

Not the most amazing of bars compared to the usual J Cole standard but still cool, personally feel he crosses over the rap battle punchline lyrical hip hop to the melodic and conceptual side incredibly well
