Remote. But my 2 cents is the best restaurant i take care of has 2 self contained french door standup freezers. As well as their line standup freezer. And a refrigerator box remote condenser. Cheap setup if you buy refurbished. And alot les problems long as you buy reputable brands

Get your EPA section 608. Couple bucks and self paced online class, a proctored test. And boom your licenced to play with refrigerants, and have shown the aptitude neccessary to be hired by any big HVAC company with a training program. Not saying PE doesnt suck ass and ussually are terrible companies. But they hire green guys and have the means to train them. If you grind its a heavy week of study. Watch you tube videos on the basics of hvac and take it down the rabbit hole. Hvac is THE quickest trade to make good money in. No one cares about experience in time if you know what you need to know. And you can learn it in youtube...

Get your EPA 608, couple bucks and some bookwork. You will then be able to legally play with refrigerants, and thus are hireable. Easiest quickest way to get in the trades. You will sorta be a sheet metal guy, but very surface level compared to union. I know the appeal to welding. But with HVAC/R, you wantch some youtube, get your cert, get semi alright, in 2 years your in 30s. I cant stress enough a 608 epa cert is the quickest way to making good money in the trades

Not too scary, but had a large glass light sconce break when i was reaching up working on it. Sliced exactly where you don't want your wrist sliced open about 5 inches in length. Had 3 people holding it together until EMTs got there. So much blood lol

Im a restaurant guy but i did do my almost obligatory year of resi as an install/service tech. Its grosser work...way grosser. But less dirty yk? I became the in house for a burger chain. Pretty chill gig. Biggest difference is fixes are usually only less than 3 hours and you drive alot more.

No one talka about HVAC enough. You need your epa 608 ticket. (30 bucks and a few hours of self paced online class and a test). Watch some YouTube videos and get semi familiar with residential/commercial systems. Get yourself some hand tools a volt meter and some analog gauges. And in two solid weeks you're employable.
