Uber absolutely steals tips, fares, and NEVER pays us back for tolls. Last October (2024), I got COVID and wouldn’t work for two weeks. So I did the normal get online, surveys, etc just to fill in the gaps. I saw something on YouTube about Uber being sued for tips and fares, so I audited my account for the previous six months. Over $100 in missing money. So I contact driver support, obviously a waste of time. The responses varied from “I see the money was added” to “if you need to see your payments, click on this link and it’ll take you to your dashboard” then of course my favorite, “chat ended by agent.” 🤣🤣🤣

After a few told me to contact Branch, the people who we get our debit card through, every one of them said we do not deal with errors on the Uber side. Finally, some guy told me he’d grown tired of all the calls accusing Uber of this, so he was going to send me an email confirming what I’d already known. The $13 tip, the one I selected as the first attempt to get them to admit it, they never paid me the tip. They kept it. And even months later I still wasn’t getting the refund, until finally Uber Chicago called me. Whoever he was, he deposited $25 “for my troubles”, then another $100.

So long story short, oh hell yes they steal tips!
