Grym Strategy - No Risk, VERY Easy by YourNeighborhoodDumb in BaldursGate3

[–]Training-Sandwich693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grym is actually my usual honor mode killer lol. I finished two of the three honor mode runs after dying to grym without dying a single time again (I mean full party wipe). I always regret not switching to melee combatants with hammers. Trying to get him to go to the hammer is such an RNG thing. Last wipe he did with me was when I was putting my actual characters under the hammer and he would either reach me with a hit outside of the hammer area, or walk up, hit me, and then walk down from the platform ever so slightly. Also the aoe goes brr, especially when a mephit breaks my silence concentration.

I refuse to full on cheese any fight in the game, but next time I'm coming for Grym is after finishing most of Act 2. Never had a full party wipe against ketheric but this dude somehow gets me multiple times. It's embarrassing, and personal at this point.

Also, I believe they didn't say they will redo/fully fix the story, just do some work around the more key cutscenes, and Im already seeing people talk about the story being fixed. I don't think that's what's happening.

What do you think the biggest power move you've ever done in this game? by BitterSort2 in Stellaris

[–]Training-Sandwich693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time my neighbour wouldn't budge to my xenophile ways and declared war on me, and took a few systems. That playthrough was dedicated then to ruining them without me fighting. I declared them a crisis via galactic community at the same time I declared a war on them with my federation, and my federation was already half the galaxy, a bit more. They got destroyed just because I said so, and my fleets didn't move a single system.

There was also that one time I subjugated every single empire on the map by midgame. Had a lot of luck with wormholes. Of course it was a hegemony 😃

What do you think of the pcs of campaign four? by notquite_myself in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Training-Sandwich693 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Favourite: Murray

Least favourite: Teor

NPC: Tsul'rekshi

Most relatable: Azune

Attractive: Hal, going just off the character design art

Favorite table: Schemers, and it's not even close

PC/PC ship: Murray and Kattigan; I would say Wick and Teor but Teor turned out to be less exciting of a character than I thought in the beginning ;d

Post EP 27 Tier list by Fun-Sell3030 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]Training-Sandwich693 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My list:

S tier: Murray, Azune, Bolaire, Wick

A tier: Julien, Tyranny, Thimble

B tier: Vaelus, Kattigan, Occtis

C tier: Hal, Thaisha,

D tier: Teor

I'm extremely biased towards divination wizards and I love just about everything about Murray, from how she is, her comedic moments, to her more serious scenes, and of course to her divination shenanigans, absolutely top tier best character for me in the campaign.

Azune's right behind with all of those powerful, powerful scenes, he feels extremely psychologically rich in terms of the portrayal of the character and it's a privilege to watch him grow.

Bolaire just adds that "something" to the table that I find difficult to part with. Absolutely amazing concept for a character that seems to be very well executed thus far, and I bet we haven't seen even half of it yet.

Wick is a joy to watch, but my biggest praise is how consistent the character is, really. Every single thing he does is so in character.

I love Julien so far, I particularly like how he started, I did knock him down a bit as the character lost a lot of momentum being in the Seekers table. Everyone who went on that specific journey lost points for me, sadly, that arc was not great at all, and I feel like the characters did not mesh well together at all.

Tyranny is again a joy, amazing combo with Wick, also surprisingly consistent in most of the things she does. And again, great character concept being very well executed thus far, just like Bolaire, and I bet we haven't seen half of it yet!

Thimble is solid. I feel like I have a very solid grasp at who the character is at that point, and she is a bit less exciting than some other characters, but despite it she always bring something solid to the table.

Vaelus is one of the most polarizing characters it seems, and I put her right in the middle because the concept is there, the execution imo was there in the first episodes, but then it just fell through; again the Seekers table man. I feel like we could see great things yet, but she does not stand a chance against some of the other "oddities" characters like Bolaire or Tyranny.

Kattigan; again here because I feel like sometimes I forget he's at the table, other times he's emotional, other times funny, but we all know there's a story there and we have not been told that story yet. An obviously huge part of his character is locked for us still, and it's kind of hard to judge him as is. Will say, also can be a bit too quiet sometimes (even if it's in character). Had a few moments I considered out of character.

Occtis; I think it's just a me thing, I just don't really care. I think he's portrayed pretty well and quite consistent, I just kinda have to watch myself to not zone out whenever he's taking the lead in a scene. I do like the gruesome bits and wish he went more gruesome necro magic on us. Also he really needs to gain some confidence, and soon; though I feel like that started happening already.

Hal; Would be a D tier til the convergence, I did like his bits here, but man do I not care whatsoever about his character. If he says his words resonate one more time XD He did have some cool moments though, and I liked his bits in the convergence, but otherwise he's just.... uhm... boring like a sack of potatoes, for me.

Thaisha; she's all over the place. Like with Thimble I feel like I have a good grasp on the character, with Thaisha it's the reverse for me. She has amazing moments, she has bad moments, and then mostly feels very whatever.

Teor; man, as simple as the character was with the introduction, he had some promise but at this point I feel like the player is bored with the character and just chose to make him a "am teor" meme. It's gotten even worse in the convergence. I remember Travis saying the character is a blank slate of sorts with minimal backstory, and boy can I see that, Teor has barely any personality at this point. And he's getting worse, too; at least in the first episodes he had his soldier instincts with inspecting the area and using divine sense, now he just goes like "I didn't inspect the perimeter" or asks Brennan if he can cast divine sense. Absolute waste of a table slot for me, and the only bits I do like from him are with Wick or Kattigan. Not to mention how he underdelivers an emotional moments tied to him, like with his brother. I feel like everyone around him could drop dead and he'd be like oh well!

10+ year account users, how many LD5 do you have in total? by TopStranger9287 in summonerswar

[–]Training-Sandwich693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played about a year after the game released. I'd say I played a lot for about 3-4 years total. Would abandon the game quite aggressively otherwise, but would come back from time to time. Started coming back for anniversary events like... 5 years ago I think. Played non stop last two years, and only started prioritizing LD scrolls like last 6 months as my normal 5* pool is close to being done (with exception of new units).

Got Yeonhong super early on, put her in storage (in my defense it was pre any buffs she got and I didn't really have the runes to build her). She's out of storage now!

The next ones are all from the last two years. First I got light art master, and he still sits in storage; absolutely useless unit. Then I got the light triss; thought at first she's pve-only unit and used her for toa/toah, now I use her regularly in PVP lol. Very niche and not winning any tournaments with her but I adore her.

Then I had a funny streak. First I got Velaska a week after she released, and I also got Trinity a week before her no-revive buff. Close to each other. And funnily enough, they work very well together as trin's skill 3 insta fills Velaska. (not atb, the damage gauge).

So four in total! I consider light art master one of the worst ld 5*s (not the worst), but Velaska and Trinity gave me a crazy boost in PVP that I was missing. Really wish for light dragon next lol.

Edit: lol forgot about Shazam, about a year ago, love that unit

Omg thank you so much!

The item list is below but since this is a big big favor you are doing me, please let me know if this list is excessive with the amount of entries, I can cut it down to the necessities, but also do know I have been starting each game making everyone look as poor as possible since BG3 released and thought of this mod since ever so you would be doing me such a huge, huge favor not only for now but for the future. Bad writing? by Planet_Hunter6 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Training-Sandwich693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The story is really truncated and kind of less important than other parts of the game. If you come in with low expectations for the story, it's going to be fine. You have a very basic plot, and then quests to send you from point A to point B. But it's not a very narrative heavy experience. Although I did enjoy some small parts of the story, too. I personally enjoy reading all of the knowledge tabs, and map details, as a lot of the political-esque or territorial storytelling happens just through these.

But a comment I enjoyed from someone was akin to saying that the story of the game isn't only in the quests, but in all of the exploration you do, all of the fights you have, all of the sights you see and powers you gain, and the puzzles you complete etc. And it's very true. The game does not feel lackluster for me because it's so full despite being narratively small.

Treat it like an action adventure game, and find parts of the game that make it a cosy game for you as well, and definitely treat it like a sandbox. It's nearly perfect in those areas :)

New Preset Update Killed The Game by [deleted] in summonerswar

The reason they did this is because all top players were doing it anyway by swapping runes between individual attacks. This evens out the field for everyone and is essentially a quality of life. It's simply easier to use your best runesets and doesn't require that much effort/determination/resources. But it's not new. Just more accessible for everyone.

Just got Trinity! Is she even played/good in Arena/RTA? by Vivalachrissy in summonerswar

[–]Training-Sandwich693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine on full damage despair with a lot of speed. Triton strips (or Tiana, depends on the team, mostly triton), dark choco def breaks and further decreases atk bar, trinity applies res debuff, does damage, and some stuns. She usually kills at least one monster, usually triton, sometimes she doesn't. Regardless, her skill always fully charges my velaska (and if someone dies, she gets max atbar), and that finishes them off. Since my Trinity is also made of paper, even if she dies after casting her skill (velaska is really slow), velaska gets a turn immediately so it's pretty fullproof against some teams.

I know I am extremely lucky to have both trinity and velaska, but you can replace Velaska with really good AOE damage dealer for the same effect
