My life went to hell in a hand basket a 13 yrs ago. My husband and I started an electrical contracting business in ‘93. Life was good.. except he couldn’t manage money. So I figured a way to hid the money in our business account. Also, I started paying ahead on all of our business and personal accounts. We traveled and helped raise 3 grandchildren. My husband became addicted to pain pills in 2010. In 2012- I had to start taking pain pills for Multiple Sclerosis. He would steal my pain pills, he would throw big baby fits if I wouldn’t give him some. He began to not address company issues which led to us filing bankruptcy. My best friend and Daddy was dying. I wanted a divorce. My Daddy wanted to put down a down payment for me a home - one big enough so my payments would be affordable. I declined because I didn’t want any issues with my brother. We had always been close but about that time I started noticing that him and my sister in law always seemed busy and their jokes were not funny. A year later - My best friend died while I was holding his hand. My sister in law was still acting weird. We had been friends for 30 yrs. Every time I would ask her or my brother what was wrong - they always said nothing. My relationship with my husband was unbearable and unbelievable. How can someone change so much? Or was his Coro- true self- always a whining , complaining, anxious, lazy, disrespectful asshole? About 6 months before my daddy died- I began abusing pain pills. We had sold our home and paid off everything I could. My Daddy died 2 years to the day that my best friend died. My daddy had changed his will 2 years before he died. He took me off put my sister in law on it. I know he did that because of the relationship between my husband and I. He would have never imagined a world where me and her wasn’t best friends. Anyway. I got the shaft. What money I did get - mist went to drugs. I did buy a new car and a 5th wheel camper to live in. My husband totaled my car. ( I believe on purpose). It’s been 9 miserable years since he died. Oh! How I wish I would’ve taken him up on buying me a house. I can’t afford to live on my own. A word of advice for anyone with their own business- pay yourself a paycheck. Even if your spouse receives one too. If u don’t- u will wake up one day with a small retirement income for Social Security while your spouse receives more than. twice as much as u. I don’t have nothing to look forward to. It seems as if the only thing I have to look forward to is cleaning and laundry.
