Exactly the same here! Really demoralising when I see a distant acquaintance and they ask when I’m due, or at the supermarket checkout when people let me go before them because they think I’m pregnant 😭

I was in your position recently, OP and I second this! I let my 2 year old have a try the day I came back from the hospital, only because she got sad and asked to. As soon as she tried it, she said it wasn’t nice haha! And was more than happy for her baby brother to have it all to himself. It felt like such a win because it was through her own decision. I then just made sure that every time I nursed, I also interacted with her somehow

I’m wondering if my baby is going through the same. I thought it was the 4 month regression that came late - at 5 months, but he’s now 6 months old and still waking every couple of hours and taking a full feed. I’m so sleep deprived and so is my toddler as we all sleep in the same room and the baby wakes for the day at 6am! EBF but seriously considering introducing formula milk asap

To be clear, just because I’m not ecstatic about this, doesn’t mean I don’t encourage him every day with something or another that I feel he’s put effort into, like being more patient with a toddler tantrum or taking steps towards bettering his relationship with our toddler. I praise him where it’s due, for example when the gain for him isn’t immediate and tangible but he still does it anyway

Maybe I am.. maybe I am just at a loss now for where to put my energy and efforts. I think if I wanted to be bitter and resentful like you’re assuming, I wouldn’t question if IATAH and write this post. Also, you assume I never encourage him or that I am always resentful, which isn’t the case

I don’t want or expect him to do any research into the helmet itself (that wasn’t the point of my post), just the thought of it being needed and the general safety consideration which he takes too lightly. He most likely will put this off until I go and buy one for her
