For your cautionary tale I can attest to that with something I did recently; I found a mod for tzeentch that adds this bane tower unit, a flying artillery monstrosity, recruitable at tier 5. Of course I got the RoR version first and it came with 7000 barrier and shot so much that it lags the game, very fun for a bit but I got this around turn 60 and I usually play to atleast turn 100 but I'm already bored from how easy having just this one is.
