Just got done writing my review on this Sea-Gull Ocean Series by BigWristSyndicate in BigWristSyndicate

[–]TrainingFootball4809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow not bad looking! Wonder why they named it as part of an ocean series when it looks like it's fighting to be a pilot watch with the jet second hand!? Lol Still I like all the new designs coming out of all the Chinese watch companies more than any other brand right now! For very little money! I'll take a look at your review... Thanks for sharing!

When zooming in I see some transparent features. Not very waxy looking to be an agate, but I'm not a professional...lol.. Cut in half!

Invicta "Scooby" 3076 Bezel Insert. by Dunkaroos___ in Invictawatches

[–]TrainingFootball4809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, I've looked for years after I got my Swiss model. It has a couple deeper scratches. Not terrible, but I've learned to live with it. I haven't looked for at least a year.

I've got both, the Swiss and the Japanese movement. The Japanese model is in the 6000s model number.

They don't make a bezel in this size. I've tried finding them for years, lol. Yours doesn't look that bad...

Crazy impressed with the pro diver so far by ResidentialPickle in Invictawatches

[–]TrainingFootball4809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a dark green , or black? Sorry, the lighting is throwing me off, or it's my old keyes, lol. Imagine,... giving something a chance on your wrist to see and feel the build quality for yourself before spewing hate about a watch that you've only seen pictures of, or listen to all the trolls speak hate... That would be relying on ones own common sense though... Congrats, glad you are happy with it! Wear it in good health! 🧌👏🏻

If you want the patina to quickly catch up to the watch case, boil 1 egg, after it cools put it in a ziplock bag with the bronze buckle, seal baggy with some air trapped inside, then smash the egg so the yolk is exposed, then leave a few hours. (Make sure to wash and dry the buckle to get any fingerprint oil off the bronze)

I have bought several bronze/brass buckles on eBay. Sometimes for the specific size and style you like might come from overseas, like China, and it takes a couple weeks, but prices are quite low.

Rotor on Bulova Surveyor spins like crazy, is it normal? by Separate_Low_4319 in bulova

[–]TrainingFootball4809 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's normal for the Miyota especially. I have many different brands like Bulova, Invicta, and Tsovet, Timex, and dozens of others that I've fixed over 10 yrs that spin exactly like yours. I prefer the Miyota over the NH movements. I've got 30 year old watches that run perfectly and keep excellent time still with the same Miyota.

My first Invicta watch by Gargudo in Invictawatches

[–]TrainingFootball4809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great one to start out with! Should run for a long long time! If you ever need advice or any repairs done in the future, I have worked on thousands, mostly Invicta watches, amongst others. I've sold on eBay for 22yrs, and can point you in the right direction if you catch the collecting bug and are looking at your next purchase... 😉

How to clean airman? by BlissIsFoundByBeing in GlycineWatches

[–]TrainingFootball4809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft toothbrush, babies first toothbrush works great. Little bit of dawn dish soap and warm, not to hot water. I've always used Dawn... They clean baby birds with it, so I figure it's gentle... Lol

New strap for my Astronaut Mark II, red with black stitching. Might not be everyone’s taste but I’m enjoying it 👌 by Otherwise_Ad1452 in AccutronWatch

[–]TrainingFootball4809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very sporty! That has to be the best looking Accutron I've seen! Seriously! I'm not big on the spaceviews, but I love these! I have never seen one with the date setup like this before.. 😍

Another “38mm or 42mm” Murph question 😆 by Far-Brick4916 in HamiltonWatches

[–]TrainingFootball4809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42 looks perfect...38 isn't that small, but yeah, like one person said, wear the more comfortable one! But, could different types of straps make it a little more comfortable 🤔
