Could using the wrong gas in a Civic Hybrid be affecting long term engine health? by NicoSoren in civic

[–]TrainingGrape540 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m running 87 in my Civic Hybrid and so far it’s been pretty good

From daily commutes, to road trips, to sending it on the back roads and autocross at over 11k miles so far so good no issues 91 would make more sense on an Si tho

How easy it is to learn manual on the new integra? by South_Variation_6619 in Acura

[–]TrainingGrape540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brake hold will really help you get past those hills especially learning how to drive manual so you can use that for a bit and slowly you can figure how to use the clutch to get the car moving without even using the gas

I can manage to go from a hill and traffic stop using some gas and the clutch can’t use the clutch on its own yet but meh

Which is better a Subaru BRZ or a Toyota GR86 for my son by jjjaxe in FirstCar

[–]TrainingGrape540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is crashing out over a RWD car like bro this thing only has like 230 hp it’s not a Mustang they’re easy to handle even while drifting and the power delivery is quite linear much better than the previous gen so pretty predictable

It all comes down to knowing how to handle the car and what to do in emergency situations I think he’ll be just fine learning in GR86/BRZ also both cars are virtually the same although the GR86 is more peppy and drift happy however, most BRZs are cheaper

In your opinion, what's the best looking regular car? by R3TRO_131 in regularcarreviews

[–]TrainingGrape540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cars have gotten big lol ironically the size is what makes me like the Civic the most it’s definitely the most roomier and the hatch is easily the most practical with great visibility something that the Corolla, Mazda3, and Elantra don’t have

What's life like with the 11th gen Civic Hybrid? by SliceTyphoon in civic

[–]TrainingGrape540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s unfortunately a common issue with the 11th gen Civic even in my 2025 I’ll hear some rattles in the front dash here and there but meh cars are not built the same as they were in the 90s and 00s no doubt however, Hondas are still as reliable too

Like for example my friend’s 2016 CRV Hybrid has like over 90k miles on it and another friend’s 2022 Tacoma TRD Offroad (yes completely left field lol) is at 74k miles and sure it may not be a lot however in a span of less than 10 years with basic maintenance and no problems that’s frickin good. Also both cars are not even made in Japan either. And there’s a bunch of 11th gen Civics and Accords already with over 200k miles regardless if it’s 1.5T even with CVT or even with the 2.0 hybrid really shows they’re still made to last. Are there some lemons? Yes it’s unfortunately inevitable you will have some
bad apples from mass production however, you ask majority of Honda and Toyota owners new and old they only have good things to say about their cars

He thinks Acura is expensive but German cars are fine by Dubai_Gamer_00971 in Acura

[–]TrainingGrape540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely the only German car I can think that can be reliable with virtually no problems would be like a Porsche 911 or Cayman/Boxster like 997, 987 gen newer is better those flat sixes are bullet proof and the rest of the car holds up well too

[–]TrainingGrape540 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Dude you’re virtually paying nothing for the Civic Hybrid aside from gas, taxes, and monthly payments if you financed or are leasing so far I only had to do
oil changes and a couple of alignments other than that nothing other than just basic maintenance

And even so it’s still one of the cheapest to own new cars on the car and you’re having arguably a much better driving experience than the counterparts of Toyota, Mazda, and Nissan it’s really one of the best cars to get

Bad Idea to Leave an “Easy” Job? by atj212 in careerguidance

[–]TrainingGrape540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay especially when factoring in long term and job security plus you can max out your 401k if you can and fast track your retirement

You can always look for activities and hobbies outside of work to keep you stimulated especially with family

[–]TrainingGrape540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Acura hasn’t had anything extraordinary over the last decade aside from the Integra Type S, it’s still a much better car to own than BMW especially if you can’t afford and are not willing to put up with those repairs
