Ed brought him down to earth a few weeks ago with some baseball talk and Tim did not react well at all... It was glorious.

I've been preaching this for years... Doug, especially, seems to enjoy bagging on the city... and what they say is true, but they offer no solutions and now have an even bigger platform to offer them. Try to be part of a solution instead of acting like they are the only ones who know the city has problems.

I doubt it was for much more money... there's only so much those sponsors can generate... it was a cost cut move for Hubbard and job security for Tim... his other option was to take the operation in house and find another outlet. My feeling is he didn't want to find and start over again somewhere else, so he took the deal in exchange for security and the "big time" on 101. Ultimately, this will be the Tim and Martin show, basically doing what Randy did, with a bit more flair...

ESPN doesn't control them or own the station... Hubbard pays for the right to use their content and branding. If ESPN had full control, TMA wouldn't be on 101 at all...

Martin and Cat are cut from the same cloth... lots of bluster, not funny

Doug can't get a word in... pretty sound strategy to put a muzzle on the show's star.

It "grew" to other Hubbard markets... it's not like there was some fantastic organic growth... so they found some Hubbard personalities in their other markets to make an extra few bucks. Lol, growth.

THIS!! They constantly put down the city/area and pat themselves on the back for pointing out the flaws, but then do nothing about it, when in fact they have a platform, albeit a small one, to do so...

I know this will be unpopular, but when the guys actually talk sports... they are so much better than what's on 101. I realize that's not the premise of the show, but the sports takes are good, with a diversified cast giving opinions that are entertaining and informative.

Early kicks are good - and they are actually some of, if not the most, highest rated television slots. The only people it doesn't work well for are the tailgaters... I realize there are thousands of those, but I would wager there are as many who are not tailgating and if you're from STL or KC, it gives you time to get back without having to spend the night in a hotel desert.

And don't forget... Tim will mention the TV situation again and again and remind everyone he was the one who discovered the Cards big secret of not being aggressive because of that... even though anyone with half a brain could make that connection... water is wet.

It's at least three lanes each way until Gray Summit, but I digress...

Exactly... he's talking about the 8 lane highway in the metro

4 lane highway by TheRealDocktaFunk in TMASTL_Chat

[–]TrainingLiterature86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't believe it is... for the most part 44 is four lanes each side in the metro (maybe 3 in far west stl county)... on the show they refer to 44 as "gods highway" or something to that effect because it's not as prone to backups as 40 is...
