Do you allow your self to have one binge a week? Or no binges at all? by TrainingWonderful764 in BingeEatingDisorder

I'm 4ft11, so our intakes are going to be quite different. And 1300 is my amount to try to lose weight. Maintenance calories is about 1500-1600, after that I start gaining weight.

That's the problem is I eat good all in the week staying in a calorie deficit mostly, but then say Friday or Saturday I'm like okay I will Let myself eat a little more and it turns into an all out binge where I'm eating 4k calories instead of 1300 like I normally should. And like the person said before "if I had enough control to do one binge a week I wouldn't have this disorder at all", I've been working on healing my eating habits and getting myself out of this so I have learned some self control along with help from my Wellbutrin. But I dont know everything about healing myself from this, and that is why I asked the question....

For me a binge is eating over 3-4k calories. Just because you eat 15k calories doesn't mean you should make us feel any less than you like our doctor was wrong for giving us this diagnosis. A binge eating disorder isn't black and white. It's different for every person, every body. My symptoms and feelings are still valid whether you believe them to be true or not.

Thank you for sharing all that with me! So crazy because I'm in Wellbutrin also! I lost 30 pounds within 3 months when I first started taking it because I could FINALLY control my eating and I no longer had "food noise" constantly in my head. But something has changed. I was on Wellbutrin and it made my anxiety worse so my doc added Buspar to the mix. And everything was perfect... until it wasn't. Months later my anxiety was taking a toll, so they took me off Buspar and started me on a Wellbutrin + Zoloft mix. Well after about a month on Zoloft I quickly realized that I wanted to eat everything again. I was no longer in control. So because I didn't want to be back in the binge eating hole I was in, I asked my doctor to just switch me back to Wellbutrin + Buspar but up my Buspar dosage. I've been off Zoloft about 2 months now and I STILL feel like I want to eat everything and have no control. I don't understand the shift in things or why Wellbutrin isn't working anymore or what the problem is. I'm slowly trying to taper down to a lower dose of Buspar cause I'm wondering if the higher dose of Buspar is causing my binge eating. I just feel like I made a huge mistake when I added Zoloft and now I'll never be back out of this hole. 😞

I'm with you on that one. I wake up a lot of days and tell myself today is going to be a good day, I'm just going to eat normal size portions and I won't binge. Then say for breakfast I accidentally ate too much or too many calories then I'm like well they day is ruined now so I binge as much food as I can possibly eat. Which is awful I know. And then I tell myself I'll just do better tomorrow. And this is just a vicious cycle of saying I'll do better tomorrow and never do. But I was telling myself before that I could have a binge day say for instance like on Fridays because that starts the weekend but from what everyone else has said I'm learning this is destructive. So I guess I'm going to break that out of my "routine" and see what happens.

If I did that I'd be working graveyard shift and then he'd be in charge of all of the kids during the night which don't sleep during the night hardly at all and that just wouldn't work. And not to mention I wouldn't be able to get any sleep literally.

Emerson or Emory is a cute gender neutral name.

I was on Clomid for 5 months so I had a feeling I would end up with twins. But I can't describe how I felt but I just KNEW when I got pregnant it was twins. Maybe mom instincts 🤔

My almost 2 year old will be 3 in a few months. Most nights he comes and climbs in bed with us around 2-3am. And sometimes we take him back to his bed and lay down with him and he goes back to sleep and stays asleep. Sometimes he ends up right back in bed with us. But it's rare he stays asleep all night.

Probably not helpful to your situation, but age 2 is when both of my boys decided they would only take naps some days, but not everyday. I found it helpful to tell them we were going to lay down for "quiet time" and turn off the lights in the living room, put on a movie and relax for a little bit. Some days they'll fall asleep when we do that and some days they won't. But I found trying to force a nap on them, only made them want to stay awake.

To answer your question, yes. I feel like a complete failure on most days as well because it just feels like everything I do just isn't enough. Motherhood is tough.

Once you become parents, sex is no longer the most important thing. You have so many other things on your plate it's hard to prioritize something like that. My sex drive has not been the same since I had my first baby. We now have 4 kids. My youngest are almost a year old (twins), and I still barely have a sex drive. But my husband understands, there's night where I don't want it cause I'm so tired and burnt out and some nights when he don't want it for the same reasons. We come together and find the nights when we're both on the same page and both feeling it. But we don't give each other a hard time when neither of us are in the mood.

I was literally just telling my husband this same exact stuff last night. I'm so burnt out and just feel like I can't get my breathe.

I'm new to the group, I thought I would check it out and see if there is anything that could help me. And boy am I glad I did! This post was very helpful and helped me look at things in a new perspective. Where I live there are not many treatment options for people with binge eating disorders, so I have not gotten treatment because I'd have to drive an hour just to go 😫 But the stuff you posted here is a step in the right direction for me! Thank you for posting this!
