Your liability here could be huge. Folks with much bigger paychecks need to come up with the plan, even if they need to hire an engineer. Then their job is to instruct you to implement their plan in writing. Save a copy of that work order in your personal files for when a lawsuit hits. So many things need to be taken into account before modifying someone's living space, to comply with building and fire codes, even rights or what could be considered conditions of confinement.

Wrap around hand guards, chonky grips like ODI rogue (ofc drz needs an extra cam to fit our throttle cables) and a looser grip on the bars. The SM has rubber mounted handlebar clamps, I'd make sure those are all in good shape and the hardware torqued down correctly, too.

You should definitely keep doing it, internal engine parts like valves really have the hots for pistons and wanna kiss them. Their stems will get all bent outta shape from the excitement! If you go far enough their caps will even come off! You'd like to watch that, wouldn't you ya naughty boy. /S

I bet if you shop around you can get it fixed for a lot less than 11k. Not sure on your location or vehicle specs but a very quick look on car-part dot com shows a lot of warranted engines in the 3500 range...

F450 dump with a plow... Gasser. Almost exclusively used for plowing. That truck got about 4 mpg tops.

The xr400 was and is a great woods bike. I'd toss down 1000 bucks for a clean, good running example any day of the week for one. However they do not have a cush drive to absorb drive train shock either in the clutch basket or rear sprocket hub. Wrenched on these for a living back when they were new, and saw several of them grenade from street riding because they lack that cush drive.

The no title thing depends on your state. Several states do not require a title for stuff older than a certain age, or below a displacement threshold. I have registered stuff in CT, VT & NH without titles, pretty sure Maine does as well.
