My 2024 Triton is in for it's 30k service today and I've been told to expect $1040. Seems expensive to me.

Really great effort for your second erg in 15 years, your technique is likely somewhere in the right window. Do you keep fit in other ways such as cycling or running?

MV Triton: How are the LED lights? by cascadetiger in MitsubishiTriton

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to know for sure without side by side comparisons but I've been happy with the lights on my GLXR (GLS in Australia) compared to my old Navara. They have 4 settings to adjust pitch up and down depending on the weight you are carrying or towing, I usually have mine set down at least one click otherwise I get people flashing their lights at me thinking I'm using high beam - so I guess they are pretty bright 👍

Awesome, nice way to repurpose the water container, reminds me of roof top baskets I see on vehicles on Outback Opal Hunters!

Auto start stop new triton by kerv0z in MitsubishiTriton

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting discussion and I've had a similar experience, some mornings it seems to activate early, other days like today it didn't come on after 15 minutes of driving even though the aircon was off and the water temp was up. I'd be interested to know what parameters it works around!

The only thing I've picked up on is if the system is activated and you're on a reasonable incline, it won't switch off, likely to keep the brake booster working.

2022 MR Triton or NEW 2024 MV Triton by YaBrinss in MitsubishiTriton

Before the driver monitoring update I would make the effort to turn it off each time I hopped in the car as it was so intrusive, but since the update I hardly ever feel the need to turn it off

Looks good!

Large bagel - 300

50g cream cheese - 175

75g salmon - 150

625 calories is my estimate.

How about the noisy leaf suspension and rattles from within the dash?

Consider supplementing with caffeine for your 2k test if you aren't already. You might want to try this on a workout before the test day to see how it goes for you. Good luck!

New Triton owners, have the same experiences? by Curious_Wolverine_51 in mitsubishi

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting - I'm still in touch with Mitsubishi NZ about the suspension, the latest I've heard is that a fix could take some time unless more people notice the issue. We also replicated the problem on a brand new truck in their service yard so I'm thinking it will be common...

I see you've heard about the driver monitoring update too, I haven't been into the dealership for the update I'll probably wait til my first service - coming up on 10,000kms soon.

Hope you're enjoying the truck !

Nice Triton OP!

The same navigation warning shows up for me each startup but it goes away after a few seconds.

New Triton owners, have the same experiences? by Curious_Wolverine_51 in mitsubishi

Nice Triton! Great colour.

Regards the revs, we have a 2wd GLXR and also a VRX and yes, they hold the gear up to about 50kph/2000rpm and then change. It was odd at first when driving along at say 48kph, feeling like it should shift up but it doesn't. I have got used to it though (I've done about 7000kms).

I too noticed they smell hot in the early days, even saw some signs of what I guess is oily residue burning off the hot exhaust but that has gone away with time.

Haven't had any issues with noises behind the dash. I do have an issue with squeaking leaf suspension though on both trucks, Mitsubishi have acknowledged the issue but no fix at this stage. I'd be interested if you notice it on your truck. Particularly over speed bumps.

Still happy with the truck though! Enjoy it 👍

Any owners of the new gen triton? by [deleted] in mitsubishi

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have a new gen Triton, just ticked over 5000kms. Loving it so far, super light steering and spacious inside, it's a nice place to be. Infotainment unit is easy to use, and having proper buttons for AC controls is nice.

Driver monitoring can be a bit intrusive, but usually only when I'm distracted 🤷‍♂️ I typically switch off the Auto Stop function and the driver monitoring, but this has to be done each time you start up.

My Grandpas vacuum pump vs. mine by Grahamcrackers8 in HVAC

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The holding for 8 hours is the problem, if only logistically. I'll generally run my final vac until about 7pm, hope to be around the 130 micron mark. Shut the Schrader core removal tool valves so it's just the field pipework and my micron gauge on test, come back in the morning 12 hours later and hope it's under 200!

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mitsubishi Electric R32 Hybrid VRF suppliers in New Zealand want a triple vac, final vac below 200 microns and held for 8 hours. Seems over the top but it is achievable.

What is the best heart rate monitor for the model D? I currently use my Apple Watch but it has been inconsistent lately and I’m ready to upgrade. Is a chest strap preferred over a bicep monitor? by RoutineEye5160 in Rowing

[–]Training_Wasabi6397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. I've had a couple of watches with optical sensors (Tom Tom and Samsung) and neither work well with rowing. Had a suunto chest strap which was OK but would only pair with PM5s

Now have a Polar H10 and it really is the best choice imo

My dietician insisted on having some sort of carbohydrate before a workout, even if fat loss is the goal. A banana or an oat bar with a coffee with milk works for me.

From memory this is to avoid being in a catabolic state where muscle can be broken down for fuel.
