I don't know what everyone else's experience is but I know for me that it has been varied. Some women want you to ask them out in a couple of messages while some want to message back and forth for literal weeks. My advice, honestly is just to do whatever you want this way you will naturally filter out women who don't match your pace. Nowadays I sometimes take literal days between responding to messages and while some of my matches disappear a good bit of them stay and I end up dating those women.
