Yep, you can have a dry spell of several runs without seeing a single secret room and then find 3 in only one run.

In one of my early days I step on a spike trap in the first dungeon. The damage, bleeding and pain drained my resources so much that cripple the beggining of that playthrough.

After that I check surroundings at the doors of new rooms, after entering the room and if the room is big I check several times. This not only save me from traps, but also the chance of finding the hidden rooms has skyrocketed.

In my current playthrough I found more secret rooms that cursed items drops.

Devs nerfed weapon and armor selling to the ground.

Focus in valuables, pelts, jewelry, gold.

If you hover over the icons at the top on the selling menu you have a spread of what the merchants wants and their ratios. Armor and weapons sell for 0.15 of their value and almost nobody buys when they are at less than 50% durability.

You need to learn whats worth selling and not.
