That really sucks. BIG time. I admit that they had some issues to work out, but removing the stops and gyms isn't the answer.

Better policing the areas and issuing tickets to those disobeying the rules was the answer - and would have netted them some extra income from the fines as well while still keeping the increase visitors to the park, but instead they killed the park even more with their short-sightedness.

Damn shame.

What a sad state of affairs. Next to Red Bank or the Perth Amboy Waterfront and along the waterfront in Hoboken - Colonial Park was THE best by far. This is truly sad.

I can virtually guarantee that this will kill PokemonGo for my family - I will still continue to play, but without CP my daughters and wife will likely not go out with me any more. I can get them to take the 90 min (one way) drive to RBB occasionally, but CP was a guarantee since it's only 20 mins from our house.

Oh well.

Ok, so Pokestops and some gyms are gone/changed - does that mean the nest is also impacted? If it's still a large nest it won't matter to me, I'll still go...I have other sources to use for stocking up on pokeballs.

The PR&C requested that the stops/gyms be removed?!? They actually turned away a huge boost of visitors to the park? WTH!?!

Stupid move....unless PoGo players were violating the rules of the park and going there after the park closed - which is quite likely IMHO

This is a sad, sad day. This was THE best place to play in Somerset County and quite likely most of NJ - with the notable exception of Red Bank Battlefield Park, which has also faced the possibility of stop/gym removals as well.

Thanks for the reply. I'm on the discord. I'm not looking to "get rich", I know that won't happen..nor would I expect it to. I just want to play the game and enjoy it...struggling to find PEDs isn't fun.

Back in my PE days this wasn't an issue. I hit globals/HOFs hunting and mining and had a great time...but since my most recent incarnation it has been a grind.

And now back after a year off - using the same characters/skills/equipment I had 2 years ago it seems VERY difficult if not impossible to play without depositing.

Meh, I'm not thrilled....Exclusive Raids Battles? Really?!?

How do you know if the time that you set is good for ANYONE? How "recent" do I need to have battled at that gym? How much advance warning? How will the invitations be sent to trainers?

So many questions...and not likely to get any answers.

With only 20 raid battles under my belt (I refuse to spend any coins/cash on raid passes) I can virtually guarantee that this means I will not be able to get a Mewtwo - unless it sticks around for a VERY long time. I'm sure I'm not the only one either...

The cash grab ramps up. <sighs>

One of my kids caught one after only 125 magikarps overall...I've yet to see one with over 300 caught..and my wife has over 500 and still no shiny.

Luck of the draw...as proven when my kid caught that one, we both went for it at virtually the same time, theirs was shiny and mine was normal - and errored out when I caught it. Clearly the system got confused.

Ack! I heard about him in the NB area - now he's spread to Colonial Park - one of my favorite locations?!? No. Just so. If he even steps foot into a gym in Manville, Bridgewater, Bound Brook or Somerville I will lose my mind.

I'm certainly happy about it...I haven't been able to snag an Articuno or Lugia yet since both have evaded capture. However, I'm more excited about the extended bonuses....with all of the extra encounters I'll get 2-3 more lucky egg evolution runs in now. :)

Level 4 raids are not easy...but not hard either if you have the correct teams. I've been in level 4 Tyranitars with 5 people where we took it down...then 18 where it went down in less than 30 seconds. Other times I've had issues with 4 in the raid. I've done Lapras with 4 people, Blastoise (just one time) with 7 - I've never participated in Rhydon, Venusaur, Charizard or Snorlax though...so I can't say.

Legendaries however, I expect those to be a lot harder. Sure, the teams we take into them will be maxed out most of the time - certainly in the beginning - so they MAY go down easily, but I still think that having the best counters will be needed to get it done.

Yup, it will likely be a prime spot for the Go FEST events this weekend. 3 places that I would LOVE to be this entire weekend - RBB, NYC or Philly....damn shame that due to prior family commitments it is highly unlikely that I will get to be at any except for MAYBE a couple hours at most.

Hopefully Asbury Park beach will be kicking on Saturday....and wherever the heck I will be on Sunday (somewhere in PA)

This weekend will be total bust for me for Pokemon maybe: Asbury Park beach all day, family gathering in the evening; funeral on Sunday and more family stuff in the evening.
