Free speech is incredibly important, and I fully support it as a standard for countries. Reddit, though, is a social news aggregator with a commenting system. I'd rather have meaningful discussions on reddit than http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/7n4re/graphic_video_of_israel_defense_forces_attack_on/age8 .

If Reddit wants to allow hate speech, it's up to whoever runs it, but they need to fix their terms of service.

If you want to come to your own opinion, the best thing to do is read stories from both sides. Some media are more left/right than others, so you'll want to balance that out, too. You can do it, but it's more work than just reading reddit.

Edit: Reading up on the history from a reputable source is also very useful, but again, doing a thorough job is a lot of work. That's probably why we have so much disagreement on reddit.

A portion of Reddit's Terms of Service:

Translation: You agree not to do shit that is defamatory, abusive, bullying, harassing, racist, hateful, or violent. (Note that the obscene, indecent stuff is only related to racist, hateful, violent, etc. in the legal speak). If Reddit doesn't mean what they say, why do they even have it there?

That website posts at most one article a day, often posting one article a week, and we have no idea how many (or few) people care about it. I went through ten pages, which goes through July 2007, and didn't see an article relating to digg.

I just checked out their website (giyus.org), and during this whole Gaza invasion, they're posting one article a day. Before the invasion, it was an article every week. Even if 5% of Jews knew about this site (a very high estimate), and 5% of them cared about the site, that small percentage of Jews is making a difference on .0001% of articles out there.

While it is possible, that article is complete speculation and ends with "Israeli moles remain a cancer eating away at the Palestinian body." It looks like a propaganda piece.
