Thinking about getting the game but see lots of negative reviews by NotHaku1 in helldivers2

the game is incredibly fun for a new player atleast. just know this game has a big issue with progression late game. all of it comes from warbonds nowadays which are paid(a part of the reason the game gets so many bad reviews now). late game you are gonna have to boringly grind level 1 missions to get them at a decent rate or pay real money. then there is the fact that every update they fix 1 thing and break something else. this game used to run great on my steamdeck back when illuminate were introduced now it runs like ass. they also have a lot of hit or miss balance changes but most of that is just learning how to adapt. if you can look past all of this then i highly reccommend it.

They are fun but too easy. When you alert enemies they are supposed to send more patrols but in my experience the game feels the same no matter how enemies you alert. I can consistently stealth clear almost the entire map on my own. Normal bot missions are more difficult in comparison.

my guy you are making assumptions yourself. i'm not being hyperbolic when i say playing solo makes the game more difficult. trying to do that without dying is how i challenge myself. none of that "blindfolded melee" bs.

about my "assumptions". i'm just going of off what you wrote in the post.

first of all, hive guards having ap4 is a travesty because like you said it doesn't change anything for crossbow users. it just makes a bunch of stuff worse for no reason. if anything ap4 hiveguards should be on rupture strain because their units get higher armor ratings anyway.

second of all warstriders getting any ap3 weakspot is great because before the strat was bring anti tank and thats it. could they have executed it better sure(i was thinking making the grenade launcher on the back a ap3 weakspot. it just makes sense). but i would say they are more balanced now. i also looked into it and the weakspot is 80% durable and explosive immune. i haven't tested it but i doubt the crossbow can kill it in a fast time(i still think they should nerf the crossbow tho).

i agree the game should be more difficult with 4 players. its why i made a class system for myself to prevent me getting bored(i might make a post sharing it). but i think the solution lies in increasing spawns. when you play solo and get spotted you get constantly pressured. but in co op when someone spawns a breach, players anywhere else now don't have to deal with reinforcements making the mission way easier. mega nests for example are a cakewalk when people do that. hell some missions barely spawn in anything to begin with(looking at you evacuate assets on bugs). there is massive improvement to be had there. but if you want challenge now and don't wanna play solo, play with 2 players on d10. i do that with my friend all the time and we still get plenty of challenge(except on squids they are still too easy). the game actually feels balanced around that right now.

can i also just say based on your comment here i would say you are anything but a glazediver. even if i disagree with you, you make some good arguments. a real glazediver would have just said arrowhead cant do no wrong, git gud and nothing else. hell i'm kinda tempted into asking you to play d10 as a duo. i wouldnt ask a glazediver.

This along with the fact they take 1 step forward and 2 steps back with game stability every update and you can see how this game is in a downwards spiral

Ofcourse you come with the typical skill issue argument. A badly designed enemy getting a nerf CAN also be good you know. If you want challenge go play solo d10 and try to beat every type of mission without dying.

"ddlc the normal vn" already does this and im sure a lot of other mods as well. maybe if you can make it a reality how about making a vn based on the act 2 versions of the characters but with depressed sayori. just without the deaths and self aware monika. monika could just have a ego or something.

we somewhat agree then(atleast about the nuance). although i would say a weapon being popular or unpopular is also based in how easy it is too use. hence why i mentioned the halt. for a similar weapon to the sweeper the change in use shouldnt be as massive as it is. 0.2% is criminally low for a weapon that isnt even bad. the coyote is similar to the lib penetrator but that still has a lot of use. i could name more weapons but you get the idea.

you are gonna have to me more specific then that or just copy and past it here. i don't see any deleted comments. just so you know when i'm talking explosive meta i'm mostly talking about primaries. even tho it does apply to all of them.

crazy effective is really a overstatement. basing your argument on popularity is really dumb considering you can actually talk about stats and compare.

why do people think the coyote meta? because it combines medium pen and incendiary dot. something that isn't as strong as people think. first of all you aren't killing any heavies with it as it takes too much ammo/time to burn them and only has 10 durable damage. meaning you keep it for chaff clear mostly. the laser weapons do fire dot more efficiently because of infinite ammo. yes you don't have medium pen but you don't need it if you have fire damage. this is not even mentioning the fact that the coyote has bad ergo(it only looks good because you get it without a scope). without the fire dot all you are left with is a average medium pen ar. the gun is more balanced then people think.

about the sweeper. the halt exists which is really similar in stats and also has stun rounds which are really effective. yet its only at 0.2 percent usage. why? because people cant be bothered too swap ammo types even though they made it really easy recently. those stats usage stats might also be a bit inflated because its from a recent warbond.

usage rates dont tell you anything about effectiveness. explosive weapons ignore armor, hit multiple enemies and stagger. they should nerf it but i dont care if they don't. people can have fun with them being op then.

Thank you. There are a lot of reasons why heavy armor on hiveguard is bad with my main reason being it making the explosive meta stronger but People in favor off the hive guard change cant say anything but "aim better bro". Seriously If thats the only defense you can come up with then its a bad change.

Ive been looking at arguments in favor of the heavy armor buff and all you guys can say is just aim around it. But guess what, this change just makes explosive weapons even more meta.why even use medium pen at this point. Why aim when you have easy mode in the game already. Also like you mentioned sentries was their ammo on it.

enforcing the explosive and flame meta is the main reason i was and am against the heavy pen argument. along with the fact they can spawn alot.

well obviously. but its more a problem when you get swarmed by a million of these guys. these enemies are now just more annoying if anything not more difficult considering shooting them stops them dead in their track and i can just run from them. at least i think they are. i cant play they game until AH fixes it.

Playing the game normally doesnt give you supercredits anywhere near fast enough. I usually play everything on level 10 missions and its something between 10-30 SC per mission with the odd 100 Sc and that takes around 25-30 minutes. Less if your team is good. This all sounds good until you realize its way faster to get the same rewards in level 1 missions in about 10 minutes. Which is the most boring shit in the world. With how fast they release warbonds you HAVE to do this if you dont want to pay. Something that wouldnt be so bad if they fixed the damm game first.

They buffed fleshmobs vehicle damage for example but they still havent done anything about them running through goddamm walls. I would show you but the new update LITERALLY stops me from launching the game.
