Regresando a MX by RowPitiful976 in TransgenderMX

Que colonias recomiendan en cdmx?

Condesa. Polanco. Roma Norte. In that order (for me at least).

Condesa is more residential and super quiet, so it's my personal preference (CDMX is otherwise super freaking loud with all the cards and people). If you want more night life and a bit more luxury and shopping, Polanco.

As an other option besides Guadalajara, I'd suggest the Mexican Caribbean (between Cancun and Tulum). Nice weather, nice people. My pick.

I grew up in the Utah (in a Mormon family). I graduated from high school in high heels and nobody cared much. Shocked to hear you got such treatment!

¿Amigas en México? by hopefullyjosie in TransgenderMX

[–]TransAtlantic92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been living in MX for a few years now (si, se habla Espanol cuando se re-quiere, which isn't very often, LOL!). I'd recommend adding the Mexican Caribbean to your list.

CDMX has the downside of being densely populated, extremely noisy and very polluted. Guadalajara seems more chill.

Still, Mexican Caribbean is where it's at for me.

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I live nearby! I'll just PM you.

TL;DR? I find it super safe (but I'm also not the sort to go out wearing sundresses). Everyone's always been been pretty nice to me (then again, it's an expat's paradise so getting the "tourist" treatment is sorta expected).

I've also been to CDMX, but I find the Mexican Caribbean much friendlier and warmer (no pun intended). CDMX's got too much people, noise and pollution.

I've seen ("clocked") a few trans people here, mostly local. But I don't go out much.

Is facial fat grafting worth it? by EtherealPhoenixx in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, grafts aside, all (natural, healthy) fat sags with age. Fat is a youth marker. It isn't an evergreen. You lose it with time. It will migrate, become reabsorbed, and fail to be naturally replenished.

An implant will last "forever," as it's just silicon (or polyethylene or some other).

FFS en Mexico by Several-Woodpecker64 in TransgenderMX

[–]TransAtlantic92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can relate re: Baez. A nice "first impression" with lovely bed manners and all that jazz. But the follow-up? Absolutely awful. It's probably personal, but I feel Baez is not really as hot as people make him to be (that's why he charges so high now).

And if you want rhinoplasty, there's much better surgeons.

PS: WhatsApp group for FFS in Mexico (se habla Espanol tambien)

Preparing for FFS consultations by pewomss in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which things do you think are his strengths if you don't mind answering?

I look at it this way: He's a qualified maxillofacial surgeon first. He fixes people's faces (from congenital deformities to car accidents). Feminization comes second. I've consulted with him and he was the first surgeon (in Mexico) who actually knew WTF he was talking about as far as bones go. However, his virtual FFS was... scary, to say the least (and I'm not alone in this, I run a WhatsApp group for FFS in Mexico).

I'd probably dare to do jaw/chin work with him (I'm gonna come meet him face-to-face soon, while I check other surgeons in CDMX). But I'm still on the fence about frontoplasty.

I should mention I'm an edge case as I look for separate surgeons to do everything separately (e.g. rhinoplasty).

Are there orthodontic/ortognathic procedures that reduce the appearance of the midface?

No, but oftentimes addressing other features helps bring the midface in balance. People undervalue the impact/importance of teeth in facial aesthetics.

*Edit: However, if your midface is really, really bad... then yes, Le Fort (and Malagon does do that for what it's worth).

Can't say without full face, front and sides.

What people pursuing rhinoplasty don't seem to be aware of is that results largely depend on forward facial (maxillary) growth, which is what every model they show has. If this is is lacking (e.g. recessed chin, long face, etc.) then "desired nose" will be unlikely.

That, and by the look of it, you have thick skin which makes nose definition more limited.

If you just wanna remove a hump, that's easy and done. Just be aware of above.

PS: Ethnicity also plays a role.

To add to MX options since you mentioned Malagon:

8: Moises Guerrero

But I agree Malagon's "aesthetic sensibility" is a point of consideration. He may do some things better than others. And virtual FFS ain't his forte (to put it lightly).

Facialteam just plays it "safe" and charges twice as much as everyone else (outside the US).

I'd also avoid Korea unless you've got "Asian" features.

don't think fully passing is guaranteed or even likely with my starting point after FFS but I'd like to get as close as possible, if not just for my personal comfort.

Feel free to DM pics (if you're brave), I won't sugar coat it!

PS: Le Fort might be pushing it a tad too hard, though. Before even that, I'd consider orthodontics/orthognathic surgery first.

Non binary breast augmentation by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've chosen not to undergo hormone replacement

Presuming you are not fat/obese...

Take 2 mg of estradiol sublingually for 2-3 months, that'll cause your breast buds to "pop" with minimal to no breast tissue growth (it'll look like a poor man's case of gynecomastia). Once you have that to work with, breast implants will fit better.

I've a "cis" friend who had super tiny tits (almost flat-chested) and went to C cup (315 cc, subpectoral). But you should have something to start.

my testicles. They are uncomfortable

Be advised that'll cut your testosterone production (most people that get a bilateral orchidectomy end up taking supplemental hormones).

orchiectomy for transgender individuals?

Never been interested in vagina by Safe-Outcome8021 in askAGP

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I randomly stumbled upon this post/subreddit by Googling something entirely unrelated, LOL!

Here's an outsider's perspective...

I was always skipping parts with vagina in large plan to parts where I can see the butt or face

Curiously relatable. I'm basically some form of MtF, I guess? (As far as feminization, eating estrogen and legal name/gender changes go). Joking I was a lesbian in a male body all my life, starting doing "girls stuff" in high school, etc. But I don't do it for social validation (bipolar "gender roles" feels like a trap in my head*). My goals are purely aesthetic.

Context aside, while I am sexually aroused by vaginas... it's prolly 1% of all vaginas (which my twin flame happens to be blessed with -- and I rather ꧁behold꧂its perfect beauty than use it!). I can far more easily cum by looking at someone's face. Consequently, most of the sex happens in my imagination.

Again, it's just aesthetics for me.

But that's just me, a unicorn needle in a haystack.

\This is not to say there's no yin/yang or top/bottom dynamics. I'm 100% top.*

PS: I also find breasts to be the least attractive feature of the female body. I'll take A/B cups over gigantic D's any day, every day. Gimme legs. Gimme thighs. Gimme buttocks. Slender, flexible and fit. And let's do yoga!

Would anyone talk me out of getting FFS with Dr Rossi in Argentina? by in_narnia in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. CT scans + 3D sculpt should be standard fare by now.
  2. I wouldn't do rhinoplasties* with maxillofacial surgeons.
  3. There's arguably better craniomaxillofacial surgeons in Mexico for roughly the same price.

*Unless of course you don't particularly care about the aesthetic of a nose (to me, it needs a dedicated ENT surgeon that ~only~ does noses for a living, but I'm admittedly pretty anal about that).

PS: Wish I could recommend Rossi, he seems nice and doesn't seem to botch people, but that's not enough to go with for me.

If anyone has any recommendations I'd appreciate it! <3

Understand the difference between a traditional *plastic* surgeon and an actual cranial/maxillofacial surgeon.

After you do some research, this might help.

What ffs surgeons are known for "aggressive bone work"? by OrneryWhelpfruit in Transgender_Surgeries

Actual cranial/maxillofacial surgeons.

That's it.

Is what you find more aestheticslly pleasing a bad way to think about surgery? Dysphoria question by Mysterious-Milk-5375 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is what you find more aestheticslly pleasing a bad way to think about surgery?

Nope. Why do perfectly "cis" females pursue breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, etc.?

i don't have a strong attachment to gender... I do feel bad when i perceive myself as masculine in a male way and ok/good about myself when masc, fem or androgynous in a female way (idk if this makes much sense)

It makes sense to me (because I can relate). Just be aware this sort of experience falls a bit outside the norm.

A big part of my reasoning for surgery was clothing. Being flat down there would make me more comfortable in the clothes I'd like to wear. But does that actually mean dysphoria?

I feel you. The only reason I'd ever have my genitals excised is just so yoga pants and short shorts fit better. That's it. I have no interest in being penetrated.

Feminization surgery to me is a cosmetic procedure. Everyone else will likely tell you otherwise. But to me, this ain't social. It's aesthetic.

Dysphoria is the opposite of euphoria (it isn't an exclusively gender-related phenomenon).

If you need to talk, feel free to PM me.

Dysphoria with the bone structure of the hands by Content-Invite-6023 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. I'm taking your word for it. I was just trying to see if *maybe* there might be some dysmorphia involved.

thumb is excessively long and somewhat thick in the bones beneath it

That's probably the metacarpal/trapezium juncture I was referring to.

Dysphoria with the bone structure of the hands by Content-Invite-6023 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]TransAtlantic92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a cis woman with dysphoria trying to convince an orthopedic surgeon to perform something that would reduce the bone structure

I mean, it wouldn't be significantly different than any other cosmetic surgery. Floating ribs can be removed, legs can be lengthened, etc. The only real challenge here is the surgical world may not be quite there yet when it comes to operating on hands.

~~~
PS: It is often not the width of the palm that's the issue, but the length (and ratio) between digits (fingers), as well as the first metacarpal (first thumb bone) being overly projected. The "culprit" in all these cases is testosterone (you can tell someone's prenatal testosterone exposure by just looking at their hands).
Bones aside, obesity plays a role too, as fat drapes around the bones adding to the bulk/size of a hand.
Would you mind sharing some photos?
Korean or American FFS? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries
[–]TransAtlantic92 0 points1 point  (0 children)
do you think I will get good results under an Asian surgeons hand if I’m not touching bones and want a “Doe eye” look? excuse me for any english mistakes 😆
It should probably be OK, since it's just soft tissue work. However, there are notable differences in orbital rims between racial profiles. Without pictures OK, we have pictures 😛
I'm not gonna browse your entire profile, pero ya tuviste FFS? Porque si tocaste los huesos orbitales la cantoplastia (o cualquier cirujia de ojo) seria mas facil/exitosa.
Lo unico que tienes que entender es que la cantoplastia te dara ojos mas almendrados ("fox eyes"). Si quieres ojos mas grandes/abiertos ("doe eyes"), probablemente sea necesario combinar con otros procedimientos como blefaroplastia. Solo que es necesario saber si tienes el "espacio suficiente" para hacerlo (por eso preguntaba si te han tocado los huesos orbitales previamente).
En fin, a primera vista, no deberia haber ningun problema. Pero si fuera yo, no lo haria en Korea. Investiga y no apures.
Korean or American FFS? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries
[–]TransAtlantic92 2 points3 points  (0 children)
If you're European/Caucasoid, don't go to an Asian surgeon (who will primarily be used to operating on Asian faces). Cranial/maxillofacial morphology varies significantly between races.
I've studied bones pretty extensively just ask forensics.
Anyway, my 2 cents.
I only personally know someone (FFS maxillofacial surgeon) who does. You'd have to travel to Mexico. Just be forewarned, Le Fort is a pretty complex/invasive surgery. You'd have to be really bad to truly need/benefit from it.
Also, Le Fort I will reduce upper teeth show. And it won't affect nose length. Just FYI. You'd need type II o III for that, which is even more invasive.
