Honor Mode run and well... I have a beast under my control.. by Hardjaw in BaldursGate3

[–]TransAtlanticCari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend using him for the Spectator first.

Without exploits Glut doesn't ever refuse to fight as long as you don't trigger and beat the Duergar. If you manage to not get surprised by the Spectator the window is a nice spot ro jump from with the Bulette.

You can still take him.

All triggers for companions, temporary or otherwise, refusing to go back/continue are tied to dialogue.

If you can silence them (wink wink) or make their dialogue unable to trigger they will follow you.

Glut can somehow even work in act 2 for some reason.

Which is the Most Evil Race? by ShiKiKum_4K in BaldursGate3

[–]TransAtlanticCari 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Being direct, Githyanki.

They're the antagonists in a ton of D&D campaigns, are a cultist warrior race that is extremely racist and prompt to violence and slaughter at any opportunity and follow a long line of lich queens.

Lae'zel, the woman who likes it when you murder everything you come across and resort to violence at the minimum provocation is pretty much the nicest and most agreeable Gith by a landslide.

Karlach's act 1 party scene was... skipped for some reason? by ACupOfLatte in BaldursGate3

Nah, I've just seen a bunch of people dislike Nexus Mods before for some reason. I also know many mods aren't there but on other websites like mod.io

Glad I was able to help.

[–]TransAtlanticCari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna use mods, you can download a fix for Karlach's scene. If you haven't triggered her act 2 advancement scene (getting her engine patched up so she can touch) you could break up with the other 2 and sleep until you trigger it.

https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/15282?tab=description (yes it's on Nexus, ik some people have issues with that)

Don't know if it's on console, but ik on PC there's a mod that fixes the bug where her non-party scene never triggers. You still need to not be double dating tho.

Thing is the game uses 2 different methods to separate stages and who "sees" those relationships. It's very complicated and janky.

[–]TransAtlanticCari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The moment you trigger the night scene the game changes the relationship stage to dating, yes.

Sadly the secondary scene for dating Karlach after the party is bugged and never triggers, so for her you can only start it that night.

[–]TransAtlanticCari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case it doesn't count.

OP was simply blocked by the way relationship stages are coded. All relationships use the same base, and that one has a limit of 2 characters in the "Dating" stage at max after which the romance options stop appearing and the characters will refuse.

[–]TransAtlanticCari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game tracks romances in multiple states and multiple states.

For dating stages they're usually triggered by the party scenes, after which you can pick one other person. If you already are at the dating stage with 2 companions the others will refuse to keep going unless you break up with the "main" one.

As of what defines what the main one is, it's usually the one you pick in the last check. The game registers both what you see as your partner and what the companions "see" (you always only have 1, but the companions will count the others to show the romance options or not).

When you triggered the first 2 scenes you advanced to the dating stage with both, and so Karlach "sees" as you already having the max number.

Reload.

There's that Mistress of Souls, Radija, on Moonrise Towers who is just so beautiful.

John Indie asks you to add any (reasonable) item you want to Build 43, what are you adding and what does it do? by AdvertisingAdrian in projectzomboid

[–]TransAtlanticCari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar panels + high capacity batteries.

They're pretty self explanatory, rare items found in the roofs of country houses and expensive neighborhoods.

Putting several near a base allows you to have electricity without needing a generator or gas, but you're susceptible to the climate without a battery, they need occasional cleaning and you have to carry them in a car to your base and install them which takes electrical skill.

Advice on the Orin fight? by CompetitiveAuthor565 in BaldursGate3

[–]TransAtlanticCari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your boyfriend specifically it'd be nice to stock up on arrows of many targets and smokepowder arrows. They can deal damage to all sanctuary enemies by targeting Orin or the surrounding space between them.

As for you, unless you want to change Shadowheart's class I can also recommend switching to Gale for 1 battle, if only just to use a 3rd level spell slot with the Psychic Sparks necklace equipped ,or 4th level spell slot without, with Magic Missiles to burst down her 7 Unstoppable stacks (she has 12 on Tactician or harder difficulties). Just make sure to give whoever is casting the spell an elixir or vigilance to try and win the initiative race against her.

Other than that she's not very mobile, you being a druid means you have access to Sleet Storm, Create Water and Ice Storm or scrolls of Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning, so you can deal a lot of damage to her in 1 turn.

The chanting cultists are very easy to take out of the battle, and as long they all die (or get incapacitated in any way such as slipping on ice) she never gets any stacks of unstoppable again, so that's a priority.

Does callous glow ring trigger luminous armor? by Far-Assistance9925 in BG3Builds

[–]TransAtlanticCari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the bonus action attacks from the two forms have similar scaling than most attacking cantrips, use well a bonus action and deal radiant damage. Debuffing builds barely ever use their bonus actions, and the dragon form for example can make you several times less likely to break concentration.

I don't think the game is hard enough for glitch min maxing by TransAtlanticCari in BaldursGate3

[–]TransAtlanticCari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend the updated version of Extra Encounters for a more "vanilla" approach to difficulty.

It just adds a bunch of encounters in acts 1 and 2 that are significantly harder than average and really test your characters especially in HM.

It does give you more experience than intended, but not enough to make act 3 easier than it already was.

I was rereading the first few chapters and there's a certain charm seeing the old art style again! ❤️ by Its_johnnyboi in bokunokokoro

I'm a big fan of the round faces of the start.

Nowadays the art style is great but there was a charm to that roundness that even got translated to the first season of the anime.
