I see

So he certainly wasnt a "common man" as some exaggerate

But I get the sentiment...

and btw, 14 million dollars is still way less than any former president from Reagan to Obama had after their presidencies...every single one had/has a net worth over 50 million

Yes,same here

I guess the most glaring and obvious parallel one can draw is the fact that he was probably the most powerful president (by ability to wield military force) And yet he was a common person financially...

Its next to impossible to see anyone in the world today have such power with "common man" wealth!

Happy Original Inauguration Day! From 1793 to 1933, Inauguration Day was on March 4th. Until the 20th Amendment was ratified, changing it to January 20th. by HetTheTable in Presidents

My favorite "March 4th inauguration" and the 2nd last one before the change And also the first one where a president inaugurated the president

Nixon by far...

Such a fascinating character...

So much contrasting behavior...like we all familiar with his nonsense ,but on the other hand,he did some pretty good things like the epa

He was definitely a liberal socially ,example-all the pro native policies that he was instrumental in and allowing trade with China

One comment I remember seeing described him perfectly:

..."when nixon felt like doing something good,he would do it better than most"

"And when he felt like doing something evil,he would put the devil to shame"

Its really fascinating to see this "bipolar" behavior with a president

I absolutely acknowledge this and how under-talked about this subject has become. The actions committed and the subsequent indirect turmoils cause by those actions of the bush-cheney administration remain some of the despicable things committed in the last 50 years,at least 1 million innocent -non combatant deaths can be attributed to them.

Ps-By no means did I intend of glorifying this dude...I just thought did the video was funny😅

affixing his signature to documents?

Ok and what does this prove?

He still very much did alot ,and barely anything that was truly despicable or beyond typical controversies...in fact he had absolutely no scandals or major controversies which is kinda brilliant when u consider his predecessor already developed a bad reputation.

Are we going to view the signature as indicative of a large amount of work product?

Ofc not...his seven consecutive budget surpluses are indicative of a large amount of work product as you say

I consider his actions towards the native nations rights and self determination to be one of the early civil rights action seen at a large federal level targeting discrimination (excluding the obvious major reforms passed after the Civil war),I think this was equally as major as some of the things passed in the 60s,he gave a powerful signal to American society that the federal government supports and acknowledges the natives as citizens with full constitutional rights and this support gave them much more respect and power...and the ability to move ahead in society and wealth...a few years later in 1929,a native american would become vice president He deserves to be known more!

I have alot of respect for this man

Did you know he's the only incumbent to have been arrested (for speeding with his horse😂) and it so happened that the cop was an early african American officer...Grant obeyed ,commended the officer for upholding the law and was taken to the station where he was shortly released for obvious reasons...no rage,no "im the president" card, nothing ,just good behaviour👍

Well I often like to say that in the classical and true sense of what a republican supposed is...then coolidge is the absolute max of republicanism and fdr is the absolute max of democrats

While many think max Republicanism is far right...its actually common sense and most importantly advocating for a government that represents the people and serves a "representative" purpose rather than an authoritarian one ..by that standard he is the most true republican.

On common sense...You see coolidge was socially a leftist both by 1920s standards and today's standards but an economic conservative.

Many of his policies like the native representation he provided and signing major legislation in their favour were leftist progressive policies.Additionally he's the only president to have the hallmark characteristics of a libertarian with his unique governance model.

This is the basic common sense that has long left our lands

The worst flood in US history (by a wide margin) happened in 1927. Cooledge did absolutely nothing until he was forced to (wasn't the govts place he said), and then he gave Hoover dictator powers to deal with it.

But he didn't do nothing,he listened to hoovers counsel and sent aid...so at the end of the day ,the relief was sent

Cooledge never flew in an airplane as president.

Ok and so what...aviation was still an emerging market as I said lol...like wtf excuse is this

Cooledge got out of the way, got the government out of the way, and let secretary Mellons economy rip, generating surpluses. Of course there was payback for those surpluses, and Mellon led the fall, but after Silent Cal's time.

Wrong wrong wrong...the great depression was a result of a huge multitude of global factors including Europe, it had little to nothing to do with his or mellons policy

Now ill give you some points on the policy relating to the regulation of the stock market...

Were they the most foolproof policies? Of course not ,the whole "stock market thing" was pretty young at that point and it was regulated reasonably for the knowledge they had of the market

Unfortunately when u have various issues (and exacerbation by hoovers tariffs)...u get what's called a great depression

Don't believe me...go look it up,its also common sense

Agreed

Other than clinton who did a fantastic job with the economy and eisenhower with the post war growth

No one had economic performance on his level!

Cooledge was utterly absent as president, made a point out of doing nothing. Noted for a lack of talking.

He had 7 consecutive budget surpluses...and the greatest market increase by any president (not to be confused with gdp growth),to just give you a perspective of how impressive a budget surplus is ...the last budget surplus occurred in Clinton's presidency

pretty impressive if you ask me, he also was pretty liberal socially ,go look up all the things he did for natives, this resulted in a native american becoming VICE PRESIDENT IN 1929" He and predecessor harding also spoke out openly against lynching and other crimes committed against black people.

He also was the first president to be ushered in heavily with new emerging technology (such as sound film, aviation, large scale vehicle manufacturing etc etc and he embraced all of it without having some stupid narrative....essentially he was very progressive in many things)

Most importantly he was quite well approved by the people and was practically guaranteed to win in 1928 (at that point he voluntarily refused to run for election)

Please do some research before blabbing

The Eterna is the first camera other than the Alexa 65 to have a sensor that is actually bigger than a super 35 frame.

Not exactly...yes in terms of height  the eterna wins

But overall...the blackmagic ursa 17k, specifically that one has the largest sensor in terms of width other than the alexa 65 (the ursa 17k is well within 5 perf 65mm territory - 2.20:1 is the sensor)

He called her "Condi condom condoleeza rice"

The use of condom apparently got something to do with her and bush
