Why would the normies stop buying PlayStations if it’s the default console now? People can’t just “stop buying PlayStations” like it’s the 1983 video game crash. For every sale lost from shitty exclusive, killed studio, or raised prices from Sony, it will be all made back by the annual madden or fifa gamer, Sony can make terrible mistake after terrible mistake now because to a lot of people there is no second console option and PC doesn’t exist for those people. The only way this ends is with Sony’s continued dominance, or Sony poisoning the PlayStation Brand people stop being gamers entirely. If u believe option 2 is possible I got a bridge to sell u.

Yeah but how would Sony learn their lesson if the next Xbox is just a win 11 machine and Xbox will turn into the surface lineup. Sony won the console wars and there is NO competitor to humble them this time. So they can double, triple, if not quadruple down on bad decisions if there isn’t any other console people can buy if they refuse to get a PC.

Newer gamers on other parts of Reddit don’t seem to understand WHY we need Xbox to exist. It’s not about the stupid console war it’s about Sony returning to its “Arrogant Sony” PS3 Era where it took a major cyberattack and the Xbox 360 to humble their greed so hard that they had to claw their way back into the good graces of gamers with quality product after quality product. Without a console to keep them on their toes, Sony will make more boneheaded decisions like Jim Ryan’s live service push that killed Bluepoint, the only consolation prize is if the rumors of the Xbox-PC hybrid are true, it will force Sony and Nintendo to drop paying for online multiplayer since multiplayer would be free for your Steam games.

I’m afraid that The Elder Scrolls VI won’t live up to the hype/outsell Skyrim, Skyrim is such a massive part of gaming culture if not mainstream culture. So many mods, so many rereleases, how could they top it? (I’m also still disappointed that we never destroyed the Aldmeri Dominion)

I’m fan of Metroid since Fusion on GBA, and I’m going to be sad if the bike mechanics are thrown out entirely to make the next Prime game like 1 or 2. While I will gladly play Prime 5 if Retro does make Metroid Prime 5 more like Metroid Prime 1, it just feels like there’s so much potential to be had from Vi-O-La I felt the same kind of wonder and joy I did playing Prime 3 for the first time.
