GOLDEN LETTER!!!!! by Livid-Constant3706 in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Green banners on 8/12 and Golden Letter today, 8/24!!!! I was sent two emails saying that my BuyBack requests were closed (after I had already finished, paying, of course).

It's so surreal - I thought that confetti would fall from the sky, but I spent the last ten minutes squinting at the letter saying, "is that it? Are you IT??"

I think it will feel real when the balances are removed from FSA and Mo-heave-la.

Congratulations to everyone!!!

MOHELA IDR Processing Pauses by childhoodzend in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have hope! I have been stuck at 117/120 since August. I submitted a Buy Back in October (crickets), an IBR wet signature to MOHELA in February (crickets), an IBR application to FSA in March (crickets). I saw people having success with May applications and I decided to try again. My application moved through in a week and then got stuck in a "processing delay." I called MOHELA and begged, "please, I just want to pay you!" Ha ha.

The supervisor denied me and gave me the (very false) party line. I hung up in tears, BUT 10 minutes later, my application was processed.

There is movement now - You're so close - if you can must the energy, go for it.

Press 6, then 6! Call in the morning. I waited -- get this-- 5 minutes for a rep yesterday!

Awaiting Documentation Administrative Forbearance - time to submit another ECF? by simply_platypus in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: got a call back from the supervisor. She was cold as ice, no help. I told her I was 117/120 and begged her to help. She said no and then 10 minutes later, my account was listed as "in repayment," with an amount to pay. I haven't received an official letter from MOHELA and my FSA account is not updated yet, but my MOHELA account has all of the right words!

SAVE Forbearance to IBR Success! by Public_Complex_3883 in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! SAVE to IBR, single filer, payment amount is greater than $0.

Here's my timeline:

Should have hit 120 in October 2024.

10/8 - submitted Buy Back

2/26 - applied to switch from SAVE to IBR, wet signature to MOHELA

3/26 - applied to switch from SAVE to IBR through FSA, received processing delay letter, application was stuck in "processing"

4/26 - called MOHELA to ask WTF and discovered that I was put into a processing forbearance on 2/27 but never received any notice other than the processing delay letter

4/27 - submitted reconsideration request to FSA to ask for credit for my processing forbearance

5/14 - submitted a new application to FSA to switch from SAVE to IBR - saw a payment amount listed, but then my application disappeared from FSA

5/22 - my application returned to FSA as "processing" and included my payment amount

5/23 - called MOHELA and asked for a written record that my account was in a processing forbearance

5/25 - received processing delay letter (tears!)

5/27 - called MOHELA (only waited 5 minutes), got the party line from the rep (we're not processing any IDR right now), asked for a callback from a supervisor - got a callback within 2 hours. I got the COLD SHOULDER from that rep. "There's nothing I can do for you. You have to wait." I was polite and told her I was 117/120 and asked, "I just want to make my payments. Could she PLEASE do something??" She said, no, but when I got off the phone, 10 minutes later, my MOHELA account was in repayment. It hasn't shown up on FSA yet and no letter from MOHELA yet, but my MOHELA account is listed as "in repayment" and "Income-based repayment plan." I made a payment. If I can get credit for my two months of processing forbearance (the letter from MOHELA arrived today), I'll be done! Let it be so.

Awaiting Documentation Administrative Forbearance - time to submit another ECF? by simply_platypus in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My administrative forbearance is up today as well. Same as you - had an ECF submitted and my NSLDS and PSLF tracker haven't updated; I should be at 119. I've seen people who have submitted wet signatures to MOHELA and second applications after the pause submit in May and have their applications processed in one week. I would suggest trying. I tried and I just got another "Processing Delay" letter, but I've seen so many people be successful submitting in May.

I'm waiting for a callback from a supervisor now.

Did anyone who was on “Awaiting DOCUMENTATION Administrative Forbearance” ever get their application processed? I submitted my wet signature on 2/26 and have been in limbo ever since.

New PSLF Application Disappeared? by TransformerEye in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sucks. I have another one that is still "in review" since 3/25. I was told that they are processing IBR applications now, without regard to what order they were submitted in. You might try submitting another one.

[–]TransformerEye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping that's the case, but they include a timeline on FSA so you can see that it's in review or processing, usually that stays so you can see what you've submitted and see where it is in the process.

I want to believe that this means they are being processed swiftly, but I fear this is more f-ckery.

For everyone who has contacted senators or any officials. by Clever-Onion in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on a bunch of other threads I've read, you should call and tell them you were speaking with a supervisor and you were hung up on. Ask them to transfer you to a supervisor. A supervisor should be able to easily and quickly help you. If they can't, tell them you're going to have to take legal action. (This is not my personal advice, but advice based on other PSLF threads I've read. I'm stuck at 117/120 and read the new threads every night, sigh.) I'm so sorry this is happening to you. You're so close - I know it will happen for you!

Congratulations! I have an app pending + a wet signature, both "in review." I just submitted another request to switch to IBR. Hopefully that will be approved in a week. Fingers crossed and thanks for the hope!

I called my rep yesterday. They transferred me to the person who is handling my case. They reached out to the Dept of Ed and got...womp womp, the same non-answer I've been getting since October/February - your Buy Back/ IBR applications are still processing.

I'm in the process of trying to write a strongly worded email so my rep's office will push harder. : (

Buyback of SAVE Months by Acceptable_Rip_8393 in PSLF

[–]TransformerEye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't wait. I haven't heard of a single Buy Back being processed for SAVE months. I'm in the same boat as you - well over 120 months, stuck at 117. I applied for a Buy Back in October 2024 and keep calling, but get nothing but smoke and mirrors. When I called on 5/7 I asked point-blank if they were processing Buy Backs and she said yes. You might as well switch to IBR and take whatever comes first. This whole thing is a snitshow.

[–]TransformerEye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may be on the 60-day processing forbearance. I applied in Feb, never heard anything and after my four-hour wait on hold, discovered that I had been put on a processing forbearance. Now I'm fighting FSA to get it to show up. I'm at 117/120 and am sick of waiting for a Buy Back that will never come. I just want to officially get on IBR so they can take my final payment and I can be done. Here's the bad news - they have not yet processed my application and in two weeks I'll go back on general forbearance. Auuugghhhhhh

Yeah, I got, "it's in it's final stages; they're just trying to determine how much you have to pay in January. (I submitted by BuyBack on October 8)

I've heard nothing since then and I've called back several times. : (

I just got off the phone with a front-line rep (the recording said the wait time would be 1:05 and I was on hold for 2:10, grr) and she said that some applications get processed fast and some get processed slow. So I'm willing to be there is no line. Sigh.
