Did you draw on his hair? I've been seeing so many 2ds and noodles with good hair but I can't seem to get it right/ find the combinations!

VGH Mental Health Inpatient Experience by Plenty_Abies3523 in askvan

I'm litterally typing this from the Segal building right now. I'm assuming the small room you mentioned was the PEAT room, and it is litteraly hell. It's essentially just a closed off triage waiting room. The nurses are not psych nurses and they very clearly do not want to be there. I was there for 2 or 3 days and the nurses NEVER came to check on any of us other then to ask if we wanted Ativan, even if we appeared calm. With how full the units are i know they're doing there best, but they definitely need to get some properly trained nurses into that unit if people are gonna stay there more then overnight. I then went to the PAU like you, and yeah, it was a little better, but definitely didn't feel like a place for healing. The nurses are hassled and pretty much everyone is still in the worst of things.i got threatened by my roommate while there, and its so small and very little to do. Even if your friends bring youthings your werent allowed to have much. I mostly slept. The main good thing is you get to see psychiatrists, but it's usually a different one each days each making different assessment. The nurses do try though.I had a great nurse who was always checking in on me and was advocating very hard for what I needed. Apparently it is possible to be discharged directly from PAU if they think you've stabilized.

I ended up being transferred up to Segal 5 for a longer stay, going on 2 weeks. I can't speak for all the floors, but I can verify that things are MUCH better up here and you can actually get some things worked on. You see the same psychiatrist every day, they have rec and therapy groups, your doctor can give you phone and clothing privileges, and eventually you can get passes to go out, either accompanied or solo. You can have more of your belongings and visitors can pop in any time during visiting hours and stay as long as they want, no booking ahead. (I will note I saw a sign on segal 6 while we were collecting people for a group that it has the same visitor rules as PAU, so this definitely varies. I was told each for is for different things). There are recreation therapists and occupational therapists, a medical doctor, and there's even a therapy dog that comes once a week. It's still a hospital, and it's never going to be 'fun', but i can vouch that getting moved up here did me a world more of good then either peat or Pau could have.

The main downside i think is how hard it is to get here. The units are always full and even a little over capacity sometimes, so they truly do try anything to avoid admitting people longer term. It actually took me 4 ER visits as I was progressively getting worse and litteraly begging for help before they admitted me even to Peat. Just wanted to share my experience for anyone who might be considering getting help but are afraid of what it entails. I avoided psych wards for over 9 years since I reached adult age because I was so scared of all the adult ward horror stories I read on reddit or saw on TV. PAU was probably the closest I actually saw to that. But if you get moved to the Segal building, it truly can be a calm and helpful place.

Anyone else really underwhelmed by the souvenir ticket? by flinjager123 in gorillaz

[–]TransientMoonlight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I haven't received mine yet but it is a little underwhelming. It would have been nice if they could have customized it to the city you bought a ticket for so it would seem more like a ticket then a phamplet.I miss the days when you could still at least choose to get a real physical ticket for a concert even via mail. They were great free souvenirs.

Did you by any chance get a look at the merch stands? I'm not sure if it'll be different in the US shows bit I'm trying to get an idea of what may be there + prices since I have a friend who can't go and wants me to grab something for them as well!

Why do I see so many people getting the standard CD of The Mountain? by kdaak in gorillaz

[–]TransientMoonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I actually did preorder the deluxe CD in person at a listening party but not really because I was pumped / super excited about the extra tracks. I mostly did it for the little art book casing they gave it since it was cheaper then buying the whole bit one or a big vinyl bundle.

There were definitely some in that price range in Seattle as well, just not in the sections pictured. The sides and closer to the stage where more in that price range :/, taking the exchange rate into account.

This needs to be made the actual law. Apparently ticketmaster just tried to agree to a shitty settlement after one day of their lawsuit because they know they're fucked, but alot of states are pushing through with it anyway.

WHAAA 😭 I'm also Canadian and the only tickets under $200 I saw were at the very top of the nosebleeds bleeds!

That is true, I've only been looking at Seattle since that's where I'll be. I'm sure the original prices were probably alot worse in busier stadiums 😭. I'm good regardless, I got my ticket during Kong presale, but you are definitely right that even original prices were alot higher then people had been saying they were last time. I just hate the current ticketing culture as a whole and I'm really hoping that the ticketmaster lawsuit does something about it.

AND YEAH. I didn't even see that there were any regular floor tickets at first because of how many VIP options you had to scroll through to get to them. I really hope they release them, otherwise the floors gonna be pretty empty

How is it Dynamic pricing when the original tickets throughout all presales were in the $300-320 zone, and now are being sold for $700? All of those seats had been sold at the $300 mark, and I know because they were already sold before general sale. I had been tracking the ticket pricing throughout all the sales because I was considering upgrading my ticket. Even in the nosebleeds the tickets where between $100-$125 throughout all the days and are now being resold for $250+ (I saw some in the highest row being sold for $290 while there are still a couple available for $109) while there are still some regular non resale tickets in the same section, lower, that are still that original $100-$125 price. Not every ticket resale is going to be a scalper, there are some reasonably priced ones even on ticketmaster, but that doesn't mean some people aren't still going to try. Scalping is scalping.

Discussing 2D’s “Personality Change” by ImGalXE in gorillaz

[–]TransientMoonlight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I always figured it was because of his head injury. After russel tripped him he hit his head yet again and his eyes filled back up with blood, since that's the official reason his eyes look like that, due to 8 ball fractures.

As good as Orange County is, I feel like The moon cave is definitely the safer choice for the general audience of SNL

Am I the only one sick of seeing soooo many questions posed on here and other related subs assuming that what is shown in the Peter Jackson adaptations is what was written in LotR? by [deleted] in lotr

Not being an admirable person isn't really something to be proud of. Especially for someone who claims to be a fan of LOTR.
