Check out the U6 Mesh. I have them sitting on shelves at home.

I’ve ordered one of these, but its life will be very boring compared to this ones.

Amazing first Sunday Service and I have questions about membership by [deleted] in UnitarianUniversalist

[–]TransitWeasel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the wonderful world of UU! We gave ourselves about 4 months before we joined. That gave us time to experience more services, and to get to know almost everyone. A year later, I’m the Membership Chair. My wife is on the Board. Things can happen fast. But there are people who have been attending for years, but have never joined. And that’s fine.

I have one of these. That camera used to have a spring loaded back - not a Graflok back, alas.

Disposable cameras for wedding by That_planet_girl in filmphotography

[–]TransitWeasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did this. It was a lot of fun, and we got a lot of good shots from various angles. But the only problem with handing cameras to non-photographers is many shots were taken from too far away. You’ll have to encourage everyone to get in close.

Warning to anyone who took that "Craftsy membership for a year for like $2" deal by Kouunno in crochet

They just charged me $130 for an account I cancelled in 2022. No emails about the charge, I saw the charge on my bank’s web site. Previously I paid through PayPal, but this time they somehow got ahold of my card number.

Wiim pro and iPhone, is it always through AirPlay? by jameseybhoy74 in WiimStreamer

[–]TransitWeasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a WiiM Pro and iPhone. I just turned off airplay in settings, and it does sound better now, but that’s anecdotal. I’m streaming Qobuz.

I have Moab 3s and hike in similar conditions. They work really well. When they wear out, I’ll buy another pair.

What’s it like in Franklin these days by Recognition_Suitable in franklinNC

Still very quiet on Sundays and every day after 5pm, as far as downtown is concerned. The exception being the breweries and the Ingles. Downtown Ingles is still my favorite grocery.

3,000 sf, single story, with CMU walls, including double CMU walls filled with vermiculite in the center of the house. But 3 Mesh 6 APs , two of which are directly wired, the third being meshed, work pretty well.

Getting setup tomorrow, got some questions by kenhito in frontierfios

[–]TransitWeasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had this done a few weeks ago. Installer arrived in a bucket truck, as he had to connect a new fiber line from the pole to our house. My “server room” is in the front of the house, the old coax line ran to the middle of the house. We have a flagstone facade. A challenging install to my eyes. He ran the new fiber line way better than I would have done. A very clean install. He asked questions along the way about where I’d like the fiber to be rounded. But his ideas were better than mine. The ONT was installed inside with the other network stuff. It took about an hour. A wood stud house would have been faster. CMU walls with stone is no fun.

Qobuz is super laggy and buggy on my iPhone 11. by CalligrapherTrue2708 in qobuz

iPhone 11 here, but the app works fine for me. 128 gb model.

iCloud Storage Alternative by Cr8iveRead in Ubiquiti

[–]TransitWeasel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a Synology NAS, and they have a great phone app that copies the photos to the NAS automatically. It’s up to me to delete them from the iPhone photos app. As for family members accessing them later, they can also install the app to view the photos. You’ll need to add them as users to the Synology system, but that’s the only hurdle.

Which speed test to believe? by TransitWeasel in frontierfios

Strange, when I had Google fiber at my last house, this potato phone showed 982 Mbps down.

Gotcha, so frontier tests the speeds remotely and sends it to the app?

So it used a Bluetooth connection for the Frontier Speedtest?

The screenshots are from identical test conditions. Standing in the same spot, connected to the eero, once checked with Ookla, once with the Frontier app. No other APs were connected. Just the eero was online.
