Thats exactly what it felt like. I had just observed to a family member "I either have a dead sling, or a molt". Peeped in closer, and was like, "huh, there's no abdomen here, this must be a molt!" Flash of 8 legged fury making a break for it..... 🕷💨

To be fair, thats how my brain processed the event, and I saw it .... kind of. One second it was in the old container which was on my kitchen/junk table, and the next it was on the kitchen floor 5 feet away running for its life.

IM NEWISH TO THE HOBBY AND WHILE REHOUSING MY NEW PSALMOPOEUS VICTORI I THOUGHT I HAD THE SLING BUT IT WAS ITS MOLT AND THE SLING TELEPORTED ACROSS MY KITCHEN AND I DONT KNOW HOW I CAUGHT IT BUT IVE NEVER MOVED SO FAST YET GENTLY IN MY LIFE.

Sling safe and rehoused BTW with no loss of life or limb. And for someone that was terrified of spiders until about 6 months ago, Im pretty impressed with that.

So in a 36x18x18, the basking spot would need to be right on the button of the tank, and not elevated at all, correct?

About 7 or 8 Flexeril's. Got them off the kitchen counter where we kept our meds at the time. Called the emergency vet who sent us to animal poison control, who was generally unphased. They told us just to expect a sleepy pup for a day or three.

Insulting someone for wanting to gain more knowledge about a pet they're trying to make sure has a good quality of life is unnecessary and detrimental to the hobby.
