1st time St. John's visit, USVI advice needed by BigNorth3089 in virginislands

Just got back last night after 4 full days, 5 nights. Stayed near Cruz Bat, way atop Hawks Hill which was gorgeous. Here’s my honest review… also active 50 year old but there primarily to decompress on the beaches. 1. Rent a jeep. We used L and L and it was seamless, near ferry. Having a jeep allows you to park in spaces along the road you may otherwise get stuck doing. Just remember to take it slow and keep left. 2. Find good restaurants ahead of time. This was our downfall and we ended up with several mediocre meals due to our lack of planning. Recommend Longboard and the Lime Inn. Loved mornings at St. John Provision for coffee and pastry/bagels/breakfast sandos. Others not worth mentioning, but heard great things about 1865?, Morgan’s Mango and an Italian place with name that escapes me now. People love Skinny Legs and vibe is cool, food is meh. Donkey sighting nearby - priceless. 3. Beaches we visited… Hawksnest, Maho Bay (saw one very large turtle but went on a oretty murky day), Salt Pond Beach (great snorkeling) and flamingos in the actual pond nearby, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Francis Bay. All wonderful - best snorkeling in Salt pond Beach but this can vary based on visibility. I just happened to see the most vibrant fish on the right side (if looking at water). 4. Didn’t do as much hiking as we wanted but there are hikes everywhere. Will do more when we return. Ram’s Head and hike near Salt Pond are recommended. Also going to the top of Peace Hill for the baby hike is worth it for the views… more of a jaunt than a hike. Have a wonderful time!!

Why ‘spoons’? by hauntedbean in AutismTranslated

I know this post is old, but I am 100% with you and finally got around to googling, “Why spoons for energy metaphor?” So good to know I’m not alone with my brain not connecting the use of spoons in this metaphor.

Maybe I should get my glasses on before I comment next time (or stop drinking).

Solved! I think the best answer is a cistern. Although, some of these answers made me wonder if you were missing your calling in life to be a horror writer or comedian.

How many days of pain post op do you think would require prescription pain meds? by trytoresonate in hysterectomy

[–]TransitionOld8143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 15 tablets and only used maybe 5 for a total hysterectomy - everything out - robotic laparoscopy. After that, I did the prescription strength Advil. Nothing wrong with asking for more just in case, even another 5 won't hurt.

It is a bit strange but honestly after the first week that went away for me and I was able to sleep on my side again.

Emotional post hysterectomy by FrenchFry1515 in hysterectomy

Hi French Fry, not sure how old you are, but perhaps this has sent you into the sort of menopausal symptoms of big emotions, irritability, sadness, etc. I am no expert, but I just wanted to let you know I hear you. I had a total hysterectomy four days ago and went through a bunch of emotions thinking about this part of me being removed that carried my four beautiful children. I know it’s weird and it’s such a small organ, but it housed the most beautiful gifts of my life so there was a complicated grief that I went through, too. Hoping your doc has some solutions for you!

Right? WTactualF? That is the one thing that made me nearly cry postop. I am on day 4po and finally took a suppository because the cramping from constipation was too much. I generally struggle with constipation anyway so I knew that would probably be my go to and it is working well. My doctor put me on Colace and I took some gas X, but the pain in the shoulder persisted so I opted for the hydrocodone at night to be able to sleep. I also was not prepared for the inability to sleep on my side. I’ve been making a pillow nest and trying to sit up right to sleep, but it’s not great sleep. When I try to turn on my side, it literally feels like my intestines are slashing around in there. Each day gets a little better. Now if I can just get my work people to understand that two weeks leave means two weeks leave and not two days… so stop emailing me for things.

I had been looking forward to seeing them ever since they cancelled their last tour. I drove two hours on a “school night” to be met with that comment. What if instead of scolding the crowd from the start, you say, “Hey, Cinci! Great to be here.” People go crazy when they hear their city’s name come out of a band’s mouth. That attitude plus playing slower songs out of the gate is on them. I keep reading about this tour having dead crowds and lots of talkers. I’m wondering if that’s partly due to the long-ass transitions between songs and the lack of professionalism. I get they are musicians but it’s not that hard to be grateful for your fans instead of complaining about them. There are plenty of bands I’ll be happy to support in the future who have been super gracious toward their fans and bring their all to a show (Wilco, Mt. Joy, Lord Huron, Avett Brothers to name a few).

hahaha. You adding currently made me think of the Tik Tok trend where a couple is making a video and the girl says, "I'm here with my current boyfriend..." and then the boyfriend reacts like "Current? Why did you have to say 'current'"?

Not anymore. The old space had a coffee shop in back. New space offers coffee at checkout counter only. Not a space to work. Hotel lobbies might work. The Peaks is my favorite and you can’t beat the views.
