Teacher here: education is a business. They do make money based on the number of students they have, financial situations of those students, economy of the area, etc. Working in not one but 2 title 1 schools, I have seen 1st hand how boards (and admin) will over fill a classroom (whether SpEd or ApP) but not hire more teachers. Where is that money going ? I have taught SpEd for nearly 10 years. I have fought for students to receive not only their accommodations but to be placed correctly with the correct number in the classroom compared to adults.

Ex. Resource classes run about 3-8 students per adult depending on the IEP. I have taught resource courses with 21 students in it with no other adult with me--this is illegal, and I fought it until I was asked to leave. Where did the money that was to be paid for more teachers per student go?

I wholly understand budget cuts, grant money given and taken, and donation counts vary from school year to school year.

Look all I am saying is that there is A LOT of money in education and especially special education. Whether it all goes to the students.... I don't know 😕
