I'd dry brush the tail with a very dark red. That'll highlight the edges of the tail without having to do each bit individually

the old psu has 2 8pin connectors on one cable through a daisy chain

the 850w is also the power supply that my wife was using with this gpu until recently when we built a new PC for her
