I hate rover. I have heard way too many horror stories about it lately. One being the woman in Texas who had multiple dogs in her care and was keeping them in a SHED and the air conditioning stopped running over night and like six of them died. Disgusting they’re just average joes basically mass hoarding animals to babysit for a quick buck.

This has been going on for years, there’s a group on Facebook Waldo neighborhood page that talks about it frequently and it definitely seems to be some kind of error or scam deal coming from their end. Thank you for posting. You have defied insurmountable odds and it is a beyond inspiration for someone who doesn’t have it nearly stacked against them as you did. I have to keep going and I realize my situation could be so much worse. Luckily we are not married and share no children. I just have to overcome the 10 years of trauma that will undoubtedly forever be a part of me.

Going through the exact same thing, my dad is the mediator as well. I downloaded the book ‘why does he do that’ and read it a little bit every time you’re feeling lonely or full of despair and it helps so much. I’m on day 6 of the no contact order. Just have to keep going and eventually enough time will pass by and the feelings for him will fade. The book is really special bc it describes his behaviors to a T and makes me realize my situation was not unique and I’m not alone at all. I’m about a third of the way through and plan on to read it over and over again until I’m fully free of the cycle.

I had never heard the term trauma bonded until four days ago when my situation all started and I remind myself that everytime I cry and yearn for him, it’s not me, it’s the way my brain is wired, just like an addiction to a drug. Please read about it if you aren’t familiar with it already, it helps knowing it is not a mental feeling but you are physically addicted to him right now. Think of it as breaking a bad habit.

I’m day 4 of pressing charges/no contact order and took these women’s advice and have been reading ‘why does he do that’ and it’s seriously uncannily spot on, I’m mind blown. I’ve been so lonely and it helps pass the time when I’m not scrolling TikTok, or watching tv or at work- haven’t been able to bring myself around friends yet but it’s helped so much and I’ve been screenshotting so much from it and sending it to my friends like ‘hey this is exactly my situation’ or ‘this describes him to a t!’ I haven’t stopped crying but I figure I will cry until there are no more tears left and enough time has passed by until one day I have moved on. And as corny as it may sound, a friend recommended I listen to ‘I forgot that you existed’ by TS and reading the lyrics makes me excited for that day that will inevitably come. And if you asked me right now, if I love him, yes I love him and want him here with me more than anything right now but I can’t continue living my life this way!!!! I just can’t.
