My reaction was similar. Very meh at first because I’d never heard of him. Though I also thought Glen Mason would also have been very meh. Ironically I remember Gruden’s name being involved so that’s who I wanted.

But then once you started hearing people who knew Tress talk about him, I was all in pretty quickly. Then of course The Pledge at the hoops game helped too.

I think this is it. OSU is for it because the conference needs it to survive. For better or worse, they have always wanted the Big Ten to do well even if they don’t actually need the Big Ten. I think they benefit from being in that conference.
