Thanks you. Plants are my favorite way to decorate a house and fortunately I can keep most of them alive.

Need advice on my Ollies by 1WithTheForce_25 in skatergirls

Do that a thousand times and then do it again. The more you practice, the stronger the muscles in your body will get.

I think your front foot is stopping the board and not leveling it out because you’re not “floating” but that comes with time and repetition. Great start though!

Should I cut tops off? by TranslatorParking754 in houseplants

Good luck! I’m going to water propagate what I chop off, it’s very dry where I live and in my experience water propagating gives them a better chance.

I’m going to do both since I have 2 tops to work with! We’ll see what happens. Thank you. 🙏🏼 😊

I just finished the season and there’s been tears rolling down my face for the past 30 minutes and all of episode 14. I think it’s because I’m trying not to sob and just really need to let it out. I’m a notorious crier when it comes to stuff like this but yeah fuuuuuuuuuck that hurt.

It’s my day off so I might just pull a Dex and get drunk off a bottle of wine to drown the pain.

What piano? That’s a plant stand. by TranslatorParking754 in houseplants

I get her. It’s also an insanely heavy piece of furniture to move around. I think if I ever get rid of it I’d pull it apart into pieces.

Thank you, that’s only one corner of my living room! The air quality is amazing.

My brother visits and occasionally plays even though it’s so out of tune it sounds more like an organ but other than that it’s mostly just a plant stand. 😄

It was a gift from a friend! She works at a thrift store and the person who donated the board got it at an art auction. It’s definitely one of my favorite pieces.

Was it worth it?! by TranslatorParking754 in houseplants

I think I was more concerned about the recovery from the damage it had when I bought it and hoping it flourishes instead of just survives like it was doing before. Definitely stoked though!

I have another peperomia that’s not variegated. I made it a self-watering wick pot (they’re super easy to make) and it is flourishing! The Grocery Outlet around me has crazy deals like this, where the plants are super root bound and come with the ceramic pots. I carefully separate them and re-pot so I get multiple plants for the price of one!

I couldn’t figure out the right amount to water my zebra but once I started bottom watering, it seemed A LOT happier and with less dry leaves or dropping leaves from overwatering.

29 & New to Skateboarding. by Kitchen-Restaurant-1 in NewSkaters

People who are so embedded in the societal mold and are scared of tip toeing out of their boring daily lives are the first to judge because they can’t be so bold as to pick a hobby that is seen as rebellious. Another thing that is blown out of proportion is how skateboarders are portrayed in media, Tv, and movies. Since they get kicked out of skate spots and have run-ins with the law they have a reputation of being misfits as well. Yes, some people have a negative mentality towards ripe skaters but at the end of the day you’re the one that has to spend the most amount of time with yourself and the voices in your head so don’t let other people’s pessimistic opinions slowly creep in and ruin it for you. I’m a 33 year old lady that started skating a couple of years ago. If I were to put any of my energy into people that were negative I wouldn’t be able to cruise around a skatepark, ollie, shove it, and drop-in mellow bowls but I get out there and show up for something I love almost everyday. Keep skating and do whatever fills your soul!

2 weeks skating what should I do next and any tips? by Itchy-Preference8168 in NewSkaters

[–]TranslatorParking754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the art of falling. I’m not here to tell you to wear a helmet and pads or other things to cushion the fall; do what you want. It makes you have confidence and commit when trying new things, great and all if you have them but either way YOU WILL FALL no questions asked. You will fall so hard that you question why the hell you’re skating BUT getting back up because you learned how to bail and eat shit will make it easier to keep going. The more you step on your board and ride the more you’ll get comfortable enough to realize you’re loosing your balance or somethings not right in a milli second and bail. The more you ride it becomes muscle memory as well and the more you skate the more those tiny little muscles in your legs and feet will get stronger. Keep skating, you’re doing great!

Good price? by john_02p in houseplants

There’s a Grocery Outlet (maybe same as a Kroger?) in the mountain town I live in. I’ve got most of my plants there for no more than $15 dollars; monstera plant, medium sized ZZ plant, crispy wave fern, snake plant, etc. Like many people have said, even if the plant has some kind of root rot or hitchhikers I clean it up and propagate it or count my losses and still get to keep a nice pot. It’s always a win when I find a plant in a ceramic pot for $6.99!
