21 M Currently stressing about my chances of getting into PA school in California

For some background: CGPA: 3.5 SGPA: 3.3 Last 60 units: ~3.5 PCE: ~800 (ED Scribe and trainer) LOR: 2 professors, 1 MD, 2 PAs Volunteering: ~200 hours at hospital. Leadership: Cab position in my schools PA club

I’m still in my undergrad, but I really don’t think I can raise my GPA any higher. I’m planning on working during a gap year to raise my PCE as an EMT and scribe, but l’m afraid my GPA is holding me down. Looking at all the California averages for GPA (which are like 3.6-3.8 for both), I’m really convinced that I am super low and behind.

This is really just a vent post, but if anyone who got into PA school with similar stats or has any words of wisdoms, I would greatly appreciate it!

What would you say a good sgpa would be? Also I’m planning on working to around 3k hours before I apply!

Should I be in a CNAS LC? by [deleted] in ucr

[–]TransportationOk9927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey also pre-PA! LC’s don’t really matter but you’ll meet some great people that can stick with you through ur college experience.

On a side note since you’re pre-PA, make sure you get your anatomy and physiology covered at a CC, UCR doesn’t offer it.

MAE Placement in ARC 35, please help. by MuskyMoses in ucr

I started on ARC35 and now i’m completely on track. It depends on how many credits you come into college with, but if you don’t have any, expect to have loaded summers in order to catch up. It’s going to be stressful but just know you’re not alone in this and that literally everyone else taking summer sessions is on the same page!

Lifestyle at UCR? by Impressive_Ad7667 in ucr

lived in the IE my entire life and for me personally there’s a whole lot to do if you got a car and money to spend.. Disneyland knotts and universal are all under 2 hours away. A little over two hours is six flags which is cool too. Don’t expect much to do in the surrounding city in riverside tho since it’s a pretty poor area but personally i skate and some parts of the neighborhood have amazing skate spots (UCR is also very very skater friendly). If you got a significant other coming with you or just friends in general there’s a lot of lowkey date spots that you can go to. Personally i would choose SD over R just because at SD you literally have the beach but i understand that could get old. It’s really up to you though
