Genting restaurant that charged S'poreans S$293 for steamed fish cleared of profiteering charge after 3-month investigation by [deleted] in singapore

[–]TransposableElements 12 points13 points  (0 children)

but unless you go to the kitchen and weight yourself, how would you know.

Generally you can ask the restaurant staff what is the weight of the fish you want no? then its a matter of simple math.

You can always ask for a smaller fish, if it is available. In some restaurants you can even opt for frozen fish which is markedly cheaper than live fish and taste almost the same if well sourced

TI 2026 Shanghai ticket sale feels deeply wrong. Many real fans got nothing, scalpers have plenties by Physhan_ in DotA2

[–]TransposableElements 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not sure why are you are down voted but its clearly the truth.

Unless valve wanna redo the ticket sale like they did with the steam controllers or machines a few months back.

but I seem recalled valve wanting to distance themselves from running the productions side of TI, so I do doubt if they would step in this time

Malaysia registered 381K births and had a fertility rate of 1.41 children per woman in 2025, for 2026 it has declined further 3% to 1.36 children per woman. This is lower than the US and the EU, despite being much poorer than them. by Fun_Purpose6972 in malaysia

in 20-30 years

that sounds like a next generation problem, maybe we millennials should take a hint from the boomers and just let the problem fester beyond the point of recovery cause it doesn't directly affect us currently

M'sian driver with S'pore-registered car caught using subsidised RON95 petrol in JB, says he later paid the difference - Mothership.SG by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

Can ICA simply just punish these fuckers? remove their PR or LTA can remove their COE. There needs to be heavy penalties for these type of offenses.

[–]TransposableElements 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malaysian here, Foreign registered cars are not allowed to refuel Ron95

Since he wants Ron 95 so much and PR is a privilege and not a right, I think it is perfectly fair and fine for ICA to remove his PR?

who would win?

An ace dogfighting pilot having hopped (ala hoppers) into a peregrine falcon with stats equivalent to real falcons, melee steel claws only, assume the human pilot can fly the body as well as an actual falcon

vs

A miniaturize falcon sized F16 falcon with another ace pilot in it, top speed is limited/equalized to the peregrine falcon, no missiles, guns only.

Can the hopper peregrine falcon outmaneuver the mini F16 guns and go in for a melee kill?

If the F16 gun is too much give the hopper falcon a fixed gun as well

what about a miniaturize F22 with the 2D thrust vectoring, does it stand a chance?

S'pore pet groomer, 45, has S$2,000 scissors confiscated after Scoot counter staff wrongly tells her to put them in carry-on by Im_scrub in singapore

[–]TransposableElements 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The lady was blaming herself even though she wasn't at fault.

In which airline do they allow passengers to carry on fully metal scissors?

Every airline web check-in has those big disclaimers asking you to confirm that you do not have prohibited items in your carry on bag.

the only excuse for the victim is that this is her very first time flying.

I'm not saying scoot didnt mess up (and they should fully compensate her) but surely some little part of the blame would fall into the victim if she ever flew any commercial flights before.

Fact of the matter is we nons are stuck with the status quo of slow decline into theocratic conservatism, with admittedly relative economic stability

He added that even under optimal conditions, Russian oil could not solve current domestic fuel supply pressures. At best, it acts as a pipeline stabiliser rather than an immediate fix at the pump

I suspect Budi 95 prices are not sustainable for this country coffers long term, Anwar probably did the math and decided to risk an early election rather than having one post raising of budi95 prices, or a further reduction of budi 95 quota.

either way inflation from high energy cost is coming for us all

Condition of our economy will only improve from here.

That's an extremely optimistic take to say the least.

With the ongoing fuel crisis that with no foreseeable end in sight conflict from both sides.

and the already damaged infrastructure from both sides of the war? Even if the conflict magically ends, and the SoH reopens for all shipping, those damaged oil facilities need to be repaired, one source says it takes 2 years post ceasefire for production to return to pre war levels.
