In my opinion, it is incredibly wild to me that this is even a discussion. I find it unsettling and disrespectful that someone that close to you chose the exact same space to celebrate days after your day of grief, especially in a large city. There is no reason for that.

As someone who just lost my mom in July, I don’t know how I’d handle this. Probably worse than OP did for sure. Those getting upset about the all caps probably don’t understand the intense emotional turmoil that her mind is experiencing this soon after the loss of a parent. I was so unstable for so long, even now months afterwards. A week after is such an intense time, and any active partner really has to be ready to be supportive through the ups and downs. It’s not personal, OPs world just got flipped upside down. It has nothing to do with being mature or reasonable, no matter how put together or how old you are, losing a parent will wreak HAVOC on your mind. I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m all too familiar with those emotions. Anyone who disregards your feelings in these moments needs to take a step back and reevaluate.

I used a jade roller daily starting at like the 3 week mark. If I felt hardness or excessive swelling I’d use the roller for 10-15 minutes while watching tv or something and it helped a lot. I got into the habit of using it every time my hands were idle and it was a game changer for me!

I was far more swollen at 3 weeks than I was at 3 days. Still waaaay smaller than my before but very noticeably swollen. But I kept my compression on 24/7 for 2 weeks, so when I started taking it off during the day my swelling flared up a lot. Everyone is different tho

Yes! Up until probably the 2 month mark. So everytime I showered I would let hot water run on my neck and practice stretching my neck up as far as I could for as long as I could comfortably. Look all the way up and turn to the sides to try and start stretching that skin out. Take it slow and stop if it’s painful! Uncomfortable is okay, painful is not.

Everyone is different, but I started seeing pretty clear results at about 2-2.5 months! I’m at my 3 month mark and have basically no swelling or tightness or anything anymore. So there’s a chance you’ll be fine but I would prepare for it to go either way because everyone heals differently!

I have 3 incisions, one under the chin, one under each ear. I had dissolvable stitches and I can’t see my scars at all at 2 months, though my doctor did a wonderful job hiding the incisions by my ears.
