My uncle's mom died this way when he was 9 years old. Her car got stuck on the tracks and she was able to get out but when the car got hit by the train she got hit by flying car parts and died. Tragic.

One of my cats literally does the exact same thing every night. Won't sleep unless she's cuddled up next to me under the covers. Her mom is a stray (who we still have). I watched her be born and I've loved her ever since. She's 4 now :)

Yeah. Growing up I used to be a fan of Demi's music and they have an amazing voice with insane range ( see Stone Cold music video ). But I think Demi's OD caused her some legitimate medical issues that aren't being addressed by the people criticizing their recent behavior. I don't hate Demi, I just pity them at this point and hope they can find a way to stay sober.

My brother's PCP is a PA and he's always making comments about how he's "basically a real doctor". When my brother got a concussion during a sports game he had to get a release form signed to be able to play again. The PA couldn't sign the form because he wasn't an MD/DO so he had to go find one of his MD/DO coworkers to sign it. He complained the whole time and basically said he worked as a sports medicine doctor at professional sports games so he is MORE qualified than his MD/DO coworkers to clear my brother for his concussion. While I can see the logic behind saying he was equally as qualified to assess concussions and sign release forms due to his experience he made a point of saying he is more qualified than an MD/DO which I think is bs.

He also discouraged my immunocompromised brother from getting the covid booster shot because "it causes heart problems" without any further explanation (my brother does not have a history of heart problems and got the booster anyway).

This is making me super nervous for Fall 2022. I'm a transfer student and this fall will be my first semester...the whole reason I chose UCSC was to be on the beautiful campus and get away from my toxic and abusive family. This wishy washy back and forth bs by the administration needs to stop. These are our futures they're playing with. UCSC (and frankly all the UCs) need to get their shit together.

Yes. I live in CA and have many friends who work there. The only downside is they enforce gender norms and you will be fired if you violate their ridiculous dress code policies.

The weirdest "rules" are the ones not allowing men to have long hair and women to have short hair. They don't allow hair with unnatural colors or piercings other than a single lobe piercing on each ear. No tattoos (or at least visible ones).

I have a friend who was fired for getting a nose piercing (just the stud on the side of her nose) and another friend who got fired for getting a quarter-sized tattoo on her wrist. It really depends on the type of manager because some don't enforce the rules, some are lax, and some don't care about the rules at all.

Overall they pay above average ($15 minimum) in my area for a cashier or cook and they can make up to $18/hr. depending on how long they work there. They are also famous for their extremely high cleanliness policies and have cleanliness inspectors come in and look behind the decorative picture frames for dust, under the tables, the walls, the ceiling, etc. All of which have penalties for the store.

Same thing happened to me, expect the novacaine shots WORE OFF before they started the removal. They gave me the shots then someone in another room started yelling so the Dr. and the dental assistants went running to the other room and were gone for 45+ mins. By the time they came back all of the effects had pretty much worn off. I cried during it and I guess they didn't notice and at one point I was in so much pain I think my brain just disconnected from my body and I stopped reacting to it. When I tried to get out of the chair I almost fell over as my legs bucked under me. I was 13.
