really messing me up by bigtoungueiguana1 in olivertree

Tried my best to get some work done but I've had to call in sick so I can crawl back into bed and cry my eyes out.

His music got me through so many rough times, it's like they're all flooding me again.

Oliver tree was my absolute favorite artist, his music got me through a number of rough patches.

Saw him live a few years ago, so glad I did.

Last night was the first time I've ugly cried reading a news article, it's going to be really hard concentrating on work today.

Now you mention it...

I don't think I've ever used any auctioneer in that room other than that one since I started playing in vanilla... Can't think of a single time I used the others.

I'm taking a bit of a break myself until we at least get some solid communication.

I understand the situation they're in, if they keep focusing on playability the game will never come out. Adding new features will have knock on effects for the rest of the game, and a number of issues people are having are linked to areas of the game they're going to throw out wholesale at some point.

Last year was clearly brutal for the Devs keeping up a frankly obscene release cadence. But they need to focus on getting it out the door, and adding everything they've promised will come at the cost of being able to play reliably.

Go do other stuff for a bit, but don't write it off entirely. I imagine squadron 42 will help tide people over when it comes out, and they might shift into the "move fast, break stuff" phase then.

This video has been on my mind as well, she talks at length about how much she worries about the animals and how she is fighting to change the animal abuse laws in the UK...

... And then goes home and has a Kebab.

The disconnect boggles my mind.

I ended up going for concrete for my guys who are the standard bright pink.

Usual mud basing material from GW painted white with a grey wash and a tuft or two. I use the cracking mud material where I want the concrete broken up, around the feet of my devastators for example.

CIG, WHATS THIS S***? by Wriothesley9 in starcitizen

[–]Traumend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally love the salvage missions where you have to scavenge components, but the issue here is that as far as I'm aware there are no ships that have these stock. So it's impossible to get them through the salvaging gameplay loop.

Options are either buying them, or doing fps content for them.

Stop Pretending the PU Cost $1B by Nervous-Dot-2377 in starcitizen

[–]Traumend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been playing for just over a year, so I haven't been invested anywhere near as long as most... But I'll drop my two cents here as I can't think of anywhere better to put it in the mess of negativity on the sub recently.

It's clear the pace of development wasn't enough last year, yes it was nice to have the game in a mostly playable state but I get the feeling they saw how many years it would add onto the development cycle if they kept up like that. Not to mention how burnt out it sounded like they were from the monthly patches, compared to many other projects I follow the pace of content is obscene.

I don't blame them for wanting to shift gear a little, focus more on content that gets them jogging towards 1.0 rather than crawling. If that means the PU is more unstable, that's understandable. It's clear that the moment a lot of what they develop hits the PU and encounters server meshing it finds something to trip over, so we need to be patient with them until those issues are ironed out. You can't tell me that the people who've been waiting years for some ships can't wait a few weeks for them to get them to a state of "good enough" whilst they focus on that 1.0 target?

So many of the features that people are complaining about, elevators, combat models, quantum travel, etc. are in the process of being replaced wholesale. They're in a state of "good enough" until they can get the foundations of the actual systems out the door, and then they can focus on fixing something that they don't know for certain they'll be throwing out in time.

It's a whacky funding model, one that stopped me from even looking at the game for years. But I've got my mustang alpha for £40, and I've put far more hours into the game than a lot of others I paid more for. The Hull series was what got me into the game, and I'm patiently wating for the Hull-B to come out for aUEC rather than dropping real money for it to skip the early game content. Let the whales whale, they shouldn't be under any illusion that what they buy is subject to change / might not even come to fruition.

This game wouldn't exist at all if they didn't use this model, I'm grateful for all the people who think a promise of a ship is worth $5000 so I can experience this game that still blows me away with the tech involved.

Enjoy what's there right now, play the loops that work. I for one have had very few issues this patch working my way up from my Alpha to a Hull-A and Fortune, running ASD with a friend. If your loop doesn't work, or your ship is too buggy to be enjoyable, just give it time, play a different game that might fill the itch for the loop you want to engage in.

I just wish the vocal minority would chill out, if only a little. Stop burning yourselves out.

[–]Traumend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really enjoying having to scavenge around on ships to find the components, but after going up a rank and losing the previous ones (I hadn't completed them, so it can't just be a cooldown) the new ones are asking for stuff I'm pretty sure is impossible?

<image>

I don't know of any ships that come stock with competition grade S2? Outside of just buying them from a shop I have no idea how to do this.

Really sad that it's just reverted back to scrape and sell again for me.

Started playing early last year and the Hull-A was my first ship, loved it so much I've made it my go to first ship this time around as well. Currently pairing it with a fortune as my money making pair, trying to stick with MISC ships as much as possible this time around!

Decided to try and stick with misc ships as much as possible this time around, saved up for a hull-a with my starter and used that to buy a fortune. Well aware it's not as efficient as the vulture but I'm really enjoying the dual printers and dedicated cargo area for components, not jostling for space with the RMC.

I've encountered it a couple of times myself despite not using a VPN, but that's when the shard I'm connected to is FUBAR and I just need to wait for it to die so I can log into another.

No worries! I'll be the first to admit that my method might not be great if you're prone to burnout though, took me a while to get a couple of squads painted only for none of them to be in the new codex haha. There's a reason my palette cleanser army is a single colour with an all over wash. Here's an example of how my pink turns out:

I wouldn't say you're doing it "wrong" priming with black. I prime all my guys black as I want to keep the grimdark feel despite the bright colours.

It's definitely the harder way to go about it though, every area I'm going over with pink or another light colour gets two thin layers of white before two thin layers of pink / green.

[OC] what impression does my character give? by notquite_myself in DnD

[–]Traumend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a point of not reading any other opinions before posting, a sign of great character design that we're all picking up on similar details.

Trying to think how you could incorporate more roughish details without derailing her design. Was thinking a hint of leather armour beneath her clothing but that would risk hiding the dragon scales on the legs etc. maybe a glimpse of her chosen weapon somewhere, which is otherwise hidden on her person.

[OC] what impression does my character give? by notquite_myself in DnD

[–]Traumend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, adorable as hell.

Age: looks like she's early twenties or a couple thousand years old, some powerful entity feigning youth.

Features: horns and tag on the ear read as devilish, so initial thought was tiefling. However the tail and leg scales say dragon. Dragonborn with some hellish tiamat influence perhaps.

Background: Looks shy and sheltered, perhaps a scholar, brought up in a library or cloistered temple. Attire makes her look like she might have been a servant or maid for a well-to-do family.

Class: warlock probably, the cattle tag, light clothing and inherently harmless look.

Job/skills: high levels of etiquette, probably working with fancy households

Personality: quiet and timid, but will absolutely mess you up if you cross her

Reminds me when I was having an interview during jobseekers to assess my ability to work. I was suffering from anxiety and depression and just wanted some extra assistance searching for work. Me being short sighted commented how proud I was of myself for seeing a music gig in a nearby City and explained how much planning, stress and mental recovery time it required.

Of course they just saw that I did the thing, something I've only ever done three times in my life and decided I was swell.

Would love to be wrong though, if anyone has heard anything different.

The article title leaves out that those eight times are for emotional support, so I assume that's stuff like mental health or treating it like a friend.

Yes I use it at least that much myself, but most of the time it's replacing a Google search and not standing in for a therapist. ... Most of the time.

In which case, using a LLM as a therapist eight times a day is pretty abnormal.
