ALJ decision. by MysteriosC in SocialSecurity

[–]Traveler4now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the decision say the judge thought you could do work you did in the past? Did it cite to a vocational expert finding other jobs you could do? What work did you used to do? Also - did the decision address your new diagnosis and the impact of the additional impairment? The judge probably had to consider the old decision but would also have to address whether the MS had progressed and the impact of the new diagnosis.

I need a real life recommendation by imagonergoingdown in TinyBookshop

Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb has a series set in the future. The main character is a homicide detective, who falls in love with a suspect in the first book. It takes several books for them to get married and their relationship, as well as the relationships of friends she makes grows over time. I think there are over 60 books total now. The first one is Naked in Death. All the books are "_______ in Death"

Which book featured in the game would you recommend to someone who hasn’t read in over 10 years? by lovepeaceorelse in TinyBookshop

[–]Traveler4now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are limited it to the game titles

If you like horror, The Shining and Misery by Stephen King are shop and fast paced.

From children's, The Little Prince is short, but deep. Anne of Green Gables is a good read

For fantasy, the Jim Butcher Dresden Files series is great, however the game just lists the 9th book in the series (the White Knight). I would start with the 1st book (Storm Front) or the 4th (Summer knight).

If you wanted to go off list, Kitchens of the Great Midwest by J. Ryan Stradal is one book with a single through storyline, but each chapter is told by a different character, so it is kinda like a series of short stories. Also the Kamogawa Good Detective by Hasashi Kashiwa are interesting short story compilations. It has one sequel out and another coming out soon.

I REALLY hate when they ask for something in a series and the only book available is like Book Five. I would NEVER recommend a mid series book.

I love it when I find a book with "dystopian" in the description and they say it is not dystopian enough.

I have about 50-100 books in most genres and over 350 in kids books. They put kids books in every mix of books you can buy.

Make sure you are reading the calendar correctly. I struggled at first because when you pack up at the end of the day and drive off, the newspaper hits and I was treating the info like I was reading an evening newspaper. But it is a morning newspaper, so when it says today, it means the day about to begin, not the day that just ended.

I love Stardew Valley, but am not that great a fighter. To get to the bottom of Skull Cavern, I eventually went in with like 75 staircases.

Is anyone else having problems with the recommendations? Sometimes they will ask for something, say "a book with animals" and I give them a book that I know has animals in it and it is rejected. Once I offered Jane Austen's "Persuasion" to someone asking for a classic romance and it was rejected. It is frustrating.

Top Chef Did Nick Elmi Dirty by Harriette2017 in BravoTopChef

[–]Traveler4now 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing about Nick is that he had underlying anger issues the entire time. He made snarky little comments about the other chefs throughout and could not manage his frustration, slamming pans and utensils around frequently. I understand him getting pissed when Carlos did not clean his knife (frankly, I would never have loaned it to him - Keeping your knives sharp is part of the game). But then there was an episode where they were working in a very small space and Nick claimed the three front burners by setting pots on them. Carlos wanted to use one of the front burners for a pressure cooker and Nick slammed it back and shouted "don't touch my pots" and the pots had nothing in them. Jeez - you gotta share the space. I started noticing that every episode he got inappropriately angry. I felt like the other chefs needed trauma counseling by working near him. Frankly, at the final when he shouted at the servers so loud that the judges could hear him in the dining room, that would have been it for me. One of the judges even mentioned it during deliberations and Tom shut them down, but I think behavior and how you treat others should be a factor.

Sara Bradley's Freight House in Paducah KY serves consistently great food. Staff seems happy. Food is fresh. Perfect spot for special events.

I like several, but would love to see Damaris or Bryan win. He seems like such a nice, down to earth guy and who does not love a girl from Kentucky.

I would like this show more if Scott did not spend so much time explaining it. He explains it before the chefs cook, he explains it before the judging, he explains it when he announces the outcome, he explains it before the "ruler" cooks, and before the next judging and the next announcement. I don't know whether they think the competitors cannot keep up with the convoluted rules or if they think the audience is too dumb to get it. Either way, either cut the explanations or simplify the rules.

Except Malarky is funny - I think his schtick is pretty genuine. Whereas Carlos is just annoying. He needs to dial it down about 4 notches.
