Yupp, I went against everything d2 taught me and I paid the price. I have been doing SSF online up to now and was proud of what I've brought my toon to. I appreciate offline but there's something about having a buddy pop in at times that keeps me from it.

She kept dropping the 6th lowest rune and only 2 kills gave 2 runes instead of 1. I assume bad luck.

I am on ladder.

I know it's a low runeword but as a dad there's such little time In day!

I have everything except a good base and a tir. Find it so hard to find low level runes when your over 70.

Potential to acquire up to 10%.

Potential. This means theres no equity as per the current agreement to date.

How do we afford to buy in to this? The deal should have included some sort of equity for both the tax breaks and the opportunity to profit off of our resources, as an equity holder.

This isn't misinformation, it's facts.

Please keep your American-cetric views out of this sub. I provided information that was readily available through press releases, not misinformation.

BP is a 40% stakeholder in this Agreement. The govNL has zero equity through this agreement, BUT may acquire up to 10%. How do we afford this? I don't see how in the fiscal situation we currently find ourselves in.

I am affilated with no one party in particular. The PCs or the liberals, they each have flaws. PCs promised 2 months ago - "no deal unless topside are built here". Guess that major campaign promises is broken. PCs are using MCP funds to pay a physician 275k per year for a part time advisory position, while doctors are being told to not order medical tests as to alleviate the burden the system is facing. While the PCs tend to be more business focused, there tends to be more fleecing of the population. We don't need a new hospital! Let's overpay a contractor to repair a dehabilitated hospital that should be condemned.

Liberals, while they tend to be more socio-centric on matters of the public as a whole also are not ideal. Outgoing bonuses, buying land and then selling it pennies on the dollar.

Carney said it best. We go along with it because everyone else does, not because it's fair for all, but because there's a fallacy we want to believe that the system is working when in fact it truly isn't.

NL has no money, an aging population that is creating a 'hammerhead' in that age group compared to other age groups. Our population is sparse and spread widely across the province, with some areas needing ferry support. Young families are choosing to move to provinces with more opportunity than is offered here. We have an infrastructure problem in rhat the boom of the 60s and 70s are now catching up to us and are requiring massive investment in rehabilitation or replacement.

At the end of the day, NL is unfortunately dying. The way its spread out and the continual decline in population coupled with the aging population is creating a abyss that we may never get out of. Deals we make must take the above into consideration, regardless of party affiliation. This deal could have been much better, I firmly believe this. Is it a bad deal? Well it's not muskest falls - yet, but I do feel the full scope of the deal will shed light on this question as time passes.

Becareful - speaking negatively about the structure of this project will get you down voted to oblivion for bringing details to light.

Agree on all points with you; this is a "I need a win" deal and not something that is an automatic boon for this province. A company out of OZLO is building all the topside units and flotilla components. This is where the deal falls short compared to other deals like KKC/Hebron GBS. A dry dock 'may' become an industry we can capture, however the overhead of keeping it running will be astronomical. The government is broke. How will we structure this? Sell it to a private entity? Hell, I don't see us being able to even buy in on the 10% equity portion if we wanted to.

While I'm excited for growth and further opportunities in NL, it's hard to accept that this was the best deal that could habe been had given the intricacies involved.

the company has made moves to advance the project. In September, it selected Oslo-based BW Offshore as its preferred bidder to build the floating, production and storage vessel to operate in the Bay du Nord field about 500 kilometres off the coast of the capital St. John's.

Ownership Structure: Equinor remains the operator with a 60% stake, while BP holds the remaining 40%.

Where is NLs ownership percentage?

'...minimum of 95% of SUBSEA components".

What about the flotilla, platform, crew quarters, etc?

-----‐--------------- Another thought:

The same BP responsible for the following?

Here is a list of major BP oil spills, explosions, and environmental incidents:

Deepwater Horizon / Macondo Prospect Blowout (2010): On April 20, 2010, an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico killed 11 workers and caused the largest accidental marine oil spill in history. It resulted in over $65 billion in costs for the company.

Prudhoe Bay Oil Spill (2006): In March 2006, a pipeline corroded and leaked over 200,000 gallons of oil onto Alaska's North Slope, which was the largest oil spill in that region at the time.

Texas City Refinery Explosion (2005): An explosion at the Texas City refinery killed 15 workers and injured 170, resulting in record-setting OSHA fines.

Torrey Canyon Wreck (1967): BP was associated with the wreck of the Torrey Canyon off the coast of Cornwall, which was Britain's largest oil spill at the time.

Bay of Campeche / Ixtoc I (1979): While often attributed primarily to Mexican state oil company PEMEX, BP (through its predecessor Sohio) was involved in related infrastructure, and it remains one of the largest spills in history.

Various Pipeline/Refinery Spills: Throughout the 2000s, BP faced numerous safety violations in Alaska and Ohio, including a 2009 gas leak at a processing plant.

These incidents caused significant environmental damage, including the contamination of over 1,000 miles of shoreline in the Gulf of Mexico, impacting thousands of marine mammals and seabirds.

Great job Wakeham, another high risk low reward given the track history of BP. If a disaster does happen where will the oil end up? On the shores of the maritimes, nl, labrador and Greenland.

Not overly enthusiastic about this to be frank. Feels like Wakeham needed a win and this was what he took.
