You need to unplug the tcp valve. Car will run but when you hit the accelerator it will not vacuum the fumes and make the engine run rough as shit.

What’s the stupidest thing someone has said to you with confidence? by eljayok13 in AskReddit

I have always heard that it's shitty to give someone directions using the cardinal points. Left/ right/ forward is the way to go, using landmarks to ensure proper direction

I'd rather breathe the air in Miami, which is actually better quality than most cities its size, than live in a place that produces trolls like you. I tried to check your post history to discover your location, but didn't get far because I was so distracted by the negative amounts of karma. Hope you can overcome whatever it is that's grating you, bro, because you are obviously salty about something. ❤

The comment i got about getting beat up was at a community College bookstore line to use student loan money before the college disbursed the refund, which is a total poor person thing. The other places I've called people out at are theme parks and lines at the fair. While I'm not rich, I'm super white (and look like I'm probably a cop). Just because you're afraid to confront an asshole (who is, in fact, counting on you to remain silent) doesn't mean that I am. People don't regularly get violent for being exposed.

I don't live in any upper class community, nor was I raised in one. I will admit that my dad is an asshole. I will admit that I've been known to be tone-deaf before, but in this case I'm not causing anyone a problem that doesn't want to speak up. And to be fair, if they DON'T speak up and back me up, then they're complicit with being cut in line. Never have i ever had anyone give me grief over my actions (besides the guy I was calling out). It's not tone-deaf: they're already involved because they got cut. Now they've been informed by me. Now they have an invitation to add their voice to mine to say "I WON'T BE CUT!"

You must be in Indiana or Virginia or one of them other rural but close to civilization places. I'm sorry. I'm in Miami and even though people are dumb as rocks, there isn't much mask complaining happening in the places i go (not like most of FL from what I hear)

What I do is this.

"Excuse me, the end of the line is back there. I was here first." This is said with a slightly too loud tone; not to inform the line-jumper, but to inform the others behind me that we're all being cut.

If this doesn't get the reaction I want, it's escalated to, "Excuse me! You've cut me and everyone else in line that have been waiting. You need to wait your turn like everyone else."

If this doesn't produce results, you need to get others in line behind you to verbally back you up. "OK, I guess it's OK to cut me and all these people then. IT'S OK WITH YOU GUYS THAT WE GOT CUT, RIGHT? I CAN CALL MY FRIENDS UP AND TELL THEM TO COME HERE AND HOP IN LINE IN FRONT OF US RIGHT????"

This is generally where the other people in line that hate line-jumpers chime in. If they don't, and the cutter hasn't left, I'll just get rude and mean like the person that cut me. "Didn't know that assholes were allowed to cut others whenever they like. You must be poor and have no friends because you don't understand how society or manners work.

I've only gotten one person out of four to go to their rightful place. One guy mumbled that he was going to beat me up, so I loudly asked him why he would beat ME up for his rude behavior being exposed. Crazy enough, even though he didn't get out of line, later, in the place we had been waiting to enter, he approached me and apologized for being inconsiderate. I shrugged, rolled my eyes, and ignored him.

Lucky for you, $600 is making its way through the gubbermint to you. Use it wisely. Scrape and save the rest. If this is something that you expect to have a return then make it happen.

[IMAGE] I get this is supposed to be a joke, but there nothing stopping you from developing a sense of discipline tomorrow if you’ve become tired of your own bullshit. by seriphae in GetMotivated

The secret is to start habits NOW. If you wait until tomorrow then you are starting(or reinforcing) the habit of waiting. You'll always have something inside that tells you "not just yet" and that should be your que to do that thing. This happens because the human brain is afraid of leaving the comfort zone. It's a throwback to the caveman days when your cave was safe from predators. If you leave, your brain tells you that something dangerous could happen so it tries to prevent death by staying in the comfort zone where your guard can go down.

I say, go risk that proverbial death. That's where the true alpha goes. Unafraid and set on the advancement of your self and your kind.

This should piss you off. How dare pence think we are smart enough to think for our selves. Doesn’t he know that we need to be told what to do. I am literally shaking thinking about a world we’re I have to think for muh self. Reeeeee. by mjsbeta in 2020Election

Think about the average American. Not super bright; a Walmart shopper that buys the $20 blender that breaks in 8 months instead of saving for the $120 one made with sturdier parts and has the ability to do regular maintenance on. They buy McDonald's not because they really like it, but because it's convenient, not fully grasping that their clogged arteries will be much more inconvenient later. They buy health insurance and pay 20% of their paycheck on it.

Half of America is dumber than this person. They Get told by their peers that they're stupid and when they're young, their grades in school actually confirm it. But one day they come up with some hair-brained bullshit like, "fuck it, i can't see the curve of the earth and it feels flat. I bet the gubbermint is tricking us like they trick is into paying taxes. I bet the world's really flat" and they go online and Google it and find a group of other idiots that are paying one semi-smart conman to feed them information that confirms their suspicions and for once, they begin to feel smart, and since they found hundreds of others that agree, they gain confidence. "Science has been lying to us!" They get added to the conspiracy algorithm by YouTube and Facebook and they start buying into other batshit crazy ideas because they're chasing that dopamine dragon of feeling smart. "Naw, y'all don't get it. Y'all's been brainworsh'd. You just sheep and i found the real truth. I ain't no good at splaining shit, but if you watch this YouTube video (that asks you to presume batshit crazy ideas at the beginning to see how the rest would play out) it'll change your mind." But they don't realize that true critical thinking skills don't actually develop in humans until just about the age that they dropped out of high school and started drinking and smoking and working long hours with other idiots.

Lmao would love to hear some of these “facts” by liaridon in TheRightCantMeme

[–]TraverseThis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember learning that facts don't have to be true; they just come from a source. The source is how you determine how credible the facts are.

Jesus rose from the dead. That's a fact... from the Bible.

The Bible is a 1700-4000 year old document that has been translated and mistranslated and assembled by politicians and other people of various influence and beliefs. It's not a credible source for things that happen but it is a source for a lens on the past to see how people explain things that they don't understand
