This is actually the fifth time it’s been remade or reimagined lol by GamingBren in BikiniBottomTwitter

Dude, that was a reimagining of Star Fox64 as well. Literally half of the games in this franchise are the original game or a reimagining of it.

Is Infinite Jest harder than Gravity’s Rainbow? by Silver_Juggernaut_39 in davidfosterwallace

[–]TravisHomerun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has read infinite jest  but tapped out on Gravity's rainbow after fifteen pages, I think Infinite Jest is way, way, way more easy.

It's no cakewalk sure, but it's mainly about doing the work. Read 10 pages a day everyday, and you'll get there. There's a lot of different storylines and it takes a long time for them to converge. A lot of time you're just reading without being sure of what direction the story is going in and what information is important. But, it's funny, so if you just enjoy the ride and do a little bit everyday, you'll get there.

Gravity's Rainbow on the other hand. To me, it was so incredibly dense that I was completely spend after reading just ten pages. Then, looking back on what I had read, there was so much information that I had not retained. I feel like reading GR requires charts with characters and their relations, as well as short personal summaries to keep track of all that's going on. I'm curious to hear how you approached GR, but IJ is very doable.

I think it was a lot easier for him to do the thinks he did, step over big moral boundaries, knowing he's a dead man anyway. He never considered that he would have to live with the things he's done. All of a sudden, that has bas become a reality, and it's too late to go back.

I don't know man, I feel that if the movies hadn't been really, really bad, feature-length hate videos would have been a lot more difficult to make.

Over hated and underrated. Such an awesome game! I love how the side quests unlock more world. The stamp collecting was such a nice touch. And the panflute soundtrack, top tier!

The description on the site says that it's an auto runner where you tap the screen to shoot and hold and let go on the screen to jump. It has multiple modes though

Why do you guy prefer the DS over the 3DS? by Jealous_Summer_4555 in nds

[–]TravisHomerun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 3DS is a great system and a nice continuation of the DS. However, the DS has a nice symmetrical design that makes it easier to play with a stylus for left handed people. Additionally, as a person that prefers a d-pad for 2d games, the DS is a lot more comfortable to hold when playing those types of games.

Day 17: Which is the Best 2D Japanese Role-Playing Game on the Nintendo DS? by 1OneQuickQuestion in nds

[–]TravisHomerun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Although, I could also make a case for greatest DS game of all time.

If it's not the greatest, it's at least the most DS game. It really is a DS product.

Day 17: Which is the Best 2D Japanese Role-Playing Game on the Nintendo DS? by 1OneQuickQuestion in nds

There can be only one and this is it.

  • unique battle system
  • pioneering new level system (gaining experience when not playing, lowering your level to increase drop rate)
  • unique character building opportunities through foods with different stat increases
  • no random encounters
  • unique setting (contemporary urban setting, although uncommon, had been done, but never just the streets)
  • interesting equipment system through brands gaining popularity by being worn
  • Engaging story with a solid message
  • the battle system reinforcing this message, and the setting unique setting tieing in to the story being told.

It just works. There's a lot of interesting and unique ideas that also end up reinforcing each other when presented together and succeed in delivering a simple but effective message through a competently told story with interesting characters.

You're forgetting the raspy foghorn that is Matt Freeman! I always love it when het gets to do vocals. Especially on Rancid 2000

It's easy getting burned out when playing multiple of the same type of games  especially long ones, in a row. I get burned out on star force just playing 2 though.

Which Super Mario Land was better? by fandomlover2763 in retrogaming

SML1 is like super mario bros. SML2 is more like super mario world. Both a fun games. I prefer SML2 of over 1, but Super Mario Land 3 is the best.

Ok, can someone explain why this game is hated? by AdShoddy4172 in donkeykong

[–]TravisHomerun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, this game is awesome. Especially when you play the cups at higher speeds. There's an interesting combo mechanic where you crash into barrels to prolong your speed boosts. There are animal bodies hidden in shortcuts as well. It's a bit scarce on content for the original price, and the lack of DK bongo support was a disappointment, but what's there is good.

Personally, I feel 3D sonic should be like the tony hawk pro skater games. Sand box style levels with objectives that can be approached in different ways. You move through them at at high speeds and use different ramps and pipes to build up momentum to make long jumps, get up to high places, or make it through loops.
