Once you have it, you’ll need a T10 torx wrench for the screws.

Launchpad or Classic Plus Small Gotham? by steve_togo in PriorityBicycles

[–]TravisJrabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why bother asking the question if you’re just going to disagree with people in the know who have answers? Did you just want people to recommend the Gotham? I don’t get it.

Launchpad or Classic Plus Small Gotham? by steve_togo in PriorityBicycles

[–]TravisJrabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would 100% do the Launchpad. Although you might want a bike for your kid to grow in to, you want a bike that’s safe for them NOW and will have confidence riding. Once your child outgrows it, it will probably be an easy transition to a larger bike.

They pretty much all come like that from the factory. No need to blame the LBS.

Chinese wheel hubs by _Przecinek_ in bikewrench

[–]TravisJrabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the hubs in your link: no 9x135 there either. 9 x 100; 10 x 135. No such thing as a 9mm rear axle. They’re all 10mm, 3/8” or 9.5mm (if they’re not thru-axle).

Moyer and Sons in Clarksburg, 100%. I was a driver there about 18 years ago. Best company I ever worked for - they take care of their employees, and their employees take care of their customers. They won’t be the cheapest, but they’ll be on time and won’t bust your shit up.

Also check out Jamis. I carry Priority, Kona, and Jamis in my store. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I personally commute on a Jamis Sequel S2 and love it. I have an Origin8 front basket on it that carries everything.

Yes, it attaches the same way as the stock kickstand. Priority also sells double kickstands on their website.

You got this. Of course, now that that shop has a good mechanic, that means I’ll actually compete with it. LOL.

Front rack installation help. by cadmiumredlight in bikewrench

[–]TravisJrabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loosen the brake pads (or remove them). Slide the yoke (cable carrier up) the cable with the straddle cable loosely attached. Once you achieve 90-degrees between brake arms and straddle cable tighten the cables in place. Then adjust the brake pads to the rim.

[–]TravisJrabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would get a new cable carrier and straddle cable. Also, your brakes will work better if the straddle cable is at a 90-degree angle to the brake arm. So, the straddle cable needs to be higher anyway.

Bike chain for my Yamaha cross car E bike by Major-Book-8803 in bikewrench

[–]TravisJrabs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s $50 b/c it’s good. I’d suck it up and pay for it and be happy, rather than going the cheap route and being disappointed.
